SWIM recently came back from a couple month "spice hiatus" and has been really enjoying his experiences lately.

I think part of it is, implementing little mantras and so on, that really helps the experience to give a very loving gentle feel, plus swim mabey takes a journey only 2-3 times a month max, but he's been thinking of having more of a regular routine.

I was curious to see if some of you swiy's had your own little rituals that you like to impliment before, during or after your journey's that helps bring the most out of the experience.

Besides swims own personal mantra.....he likes smoking just before bedtime, because he doesn't become distracted with other daily activities, and he can reflect the rest of the evening on his experience,PLUS....I don't know if any of you feel the same, but when swim smokes at night, it definately enhances his dreams and in some cases causes MIND BLOWING lucid dreams.......not nessesarily psychedelic but definately "other worldly".

So i was just curious if some of you folks had your own rituals or techniques that help enhance your experiences.

Excuse me if there is already a thread covering the subject.....i did't see one. I only saw "how often do you smoke"?

sometimes I make a big alter with crystals and feathers and live plants and stuff..not often though..I always remind myself that I am love and light before I go in. I usually have a glass of apple juice ready for when i am comming back, I find that if I dont eat before and am hungry going in, my trip is better, but I will want a blood sugar spike when I am comming down..a single candle in the dark is cool as well, the flickering helps to entance me.

I'm a big fan of candles aswell....there is definately something about that enchanting flicker.

swim will have to try the empty stomache thing, he never really paid much mind to weather he's eaten or not but he alway's likes to have a drink of water or juice at his side for when he's back to earth.

I've also been thinking about being in water....mabey a bathtub or the shallow end of a pool (with a sitter), but there is something about water that eases my soul.

I know from lsd and shrooms....swimming in water was absolutely amazing.

Ritual is key. All those who perform will be rewarded. It is ever changing. An altar is a point of worship, while a mesa 'reflects the whole'

MY O.C.D. has led me to leave a second bedroom bare and empty. Spotless and sterilized weekly. I put on fresh clothes from the drier and take a shower first. I find it calibrating to be in a white empty room and smoke DMT laying flat on the floor. I try not going into that room without a good reason. Its the closest thing to a ritual I got.
I guess it's about time for our William Tell routine.

Yes, ritual is key.
Generally if I have not smoked as part of a ritual, I get a weird or dissapointing experience.
Its like strapping yourself to a cannon without looking where you are going or putting on any protective gear. You can help direct the cannon with intent, and a mantra works well IME.

EDIT: Yes candles are good too, as is incense like palo santo.

My only ritual is to be alone, in the dark and in silence. If I stray from this ritual my experiences are usually disappointing.

I find any kind of sound to be very disturbing on a DMT trip.

I feel its very important to have a ritual that is incorporated into the preparation for journeying with spice. My own ritual it to have a deep cleansing bath as well as I make sure my surroundings are clean and neat and that i do not have to much or to little light in the room. I always burn some natural Tibetan incense before hand, my tingshas are chimed and i clear my mind of thoughts and expectations some times i hold a crystal in my hand. I also make sure my windows are all closed so that there is as little noise disturbance as possible. Than I'm ready to take my journey with spice.

I like to have baths with sea salt or epsom salts sometimes before I trip. And always natural soap. Either sea kelp or hemp soap. Lavander and other herbs also make nice floral baths. Sometimes i add baking soda to the water as well..it makes the water feel really soft and soothing. Nice to trip in the bath as well.

Near water in the bath is definitely my favourite spice journeying spot. Kelp soap and scrub is awesome, thank you Fractal Enchantment for the lovely suggestion of adding baking soda to the bath i haven't done that before, i usually add course sea salt or essential oils (my ultimate favourite essential oil is Ylang Ylang) or bubble bath. Very happy

With all the feedback i'm reading......i am having a craving for a bath.Unfortunately, i recently moved into a smaller place, and i only have a stand up shower Sad .

Being submergerd in water is soo calming and peaceful, that i can only see it as adding a very nice element to the journey.

Swim might have to ask his friend to use his outdoor pool one evening, and give this combo a try.

As of now, swims main rituals are candles and light setting, auroma therapy, 5 - 10 min. of meditatiom or breathing exercise before the blast. Also a little mantra that essentially expresses swims intentions for the experience and asking "it" to lead me where it wants to take me, or show me what it want's to show me,and then swim humbly follows. He also makes an effort to smile and if things start to get a little too intense, and swim senses that his ego is trying to fight (which occasionally happens),he will repeat the words "thank you" for your teachings, and that seems to work like a charm to getting swim back in that peaceful state of "letting go".

Some really nice rituals being posted Smile

I like to plan in advance when i am going to journey. On that day or the day before i like to have done something for other people/do some positive work.

An hour or 2 before have a bath or hot shower. Then its time for a spliff to help relieve tension/get relaxed. I always do big doses on my own and in my bedroom.

Most of the time i have some chilled sounds on low and usually a candle is lit as well.

Happy travels everyone Very happy
