Hey there guys. Last saturday I smoked some changa and had a horrifying experience. It was true ego loss without the out of body experience. I could see my body but I did not know what it was or who I was, or what I had done to get in such a state. On the come down my body started twitching. This really scared me, but I kept my cool and it eventually went away.

I was hoping this was a one time occurrence, but it seems that it is not. I hadn't smoked any dmt all week and thought I would try some changa this evening. The first attempt I burnt the spice so that was a waste. But then I got a good hit the second time aroudn. I felt the dmt taking hold and started to have fantastic visions. Then again my body started twitching again. This time I was not as worried because it had went away last time. The only thing problem I have is that it distracts me from the experience. It is sort of hard to have an out of body experience when my body twitches every few seconds.

I was wondering how many other people out there have had this problem. I am about to try some standard dmt here in a bit to see if there is any difference. I hope that this body twitching stops as I really enjoy smoking dmt. But if it continues I will have to stop. It is something that is not very pleasant to go through. I have never had any problems like this before with any of my trips.

Ever notice those pictures of bodhisattvas sitting on pillows and fields with a colored circle around their heads as they pose in meditation?
Lots of art like this...if you notice, their spines are tilted most of the time.
It happens when you accelerate your nervous system as energy flows through you more rapidly.
If you aren't transmuting this any other way, it will come out like this maybe?
just some thoughts...sounds like a phase

Yeah its probably just little releases of PHYSICAL energy. If the body didn't have a way to regulate the wattage it might have an epileptic fit or something.

http://en.wikipedia.org/...Exploding_head_syndrome this happens to me almost every time I try and sleep after being awake for more then 24 hours and each time it happens my whole body jolts or does a huge twitch that can be a real startle but its not a health concern.
I guess it's about time for our William Tell routine.

Do you have a history of seizures?

I am not sure if this is appropriate advise for someone who could have a serious health concern.

Anyway kungpow perhaps just try dmt on its own and see if the problem persists. What other herbs are in your changa mix? They could be causing the problem.

Burnt, you have to admit that the advice given is as valid as any; when in a forum where people talk about Hyperspace and "elf-like" beings they meet when traveling through other realities.

If it is a serious health concern then a medical professional should be consulted. Then if that professional started giving advice like the one above. Then you might say it was inappropriate.

Agreed?

Well last night I tried to smoke some more changa at a lower dose and everything went well. The dose was pretty small though and only produced threshold effects. Pretty good OEVs with some wicked cool audio hallucinations. I did have some CEVs but they were rather dark and not very vivid. I did try singing a bit and that was pretty amazing.

I have never had any kind of seizures before in my life. I did use to twitch sometimes when trying to fall asleep. It would happen on a nightly basis but it would only be once or twice. When I twitch on dmt it happens once every couple seconds. I really don't think that it is a serious problem, but it takes from my experience. It is just agrivating.

It did scare the hell out of me the first time because I laid there twitching for quite a few minutes and I didn't think that I would stop, but I did. So this last time I wasn't as scared when it happened. Just a little pissed because it distracted me from my experience. If it continues with high doses of changa I will switch back over to pure dmt and see how that works.

It is strange that the first time these twitches happened was on my first difficult dmt trip. Maybe there is a correlation. If there are any techniques that may help with this please let me know.

~Peace Out

I have read about this in the past, as I have the exploding head syndrome all the time and the twitches.

Here is an article I quoted giving a little info on it. Its interesting that neurotransmitters are mentioned, because of dmt and its neurotransmitter relation

In medical parlance, the twitching is called hypnagogic myoclonus (the first word refers to sleep and the second to muscle twitches).

Myoclonus refers to any kind of muscle twitching. A hiccup, believe it or not, is a kind of myoclonus. It can happen to people at any time, and repeated episodes usually mean there is an underlying medical problem -- multiple sclerosis, ALS, CJD, Alzheimer's or Parkinson's. Anti-depresssants, such as Paxil and Zoloft, can cause myoclonus. Researchers believe a disruption of certain neurotransmitters are related to some forms of myoclonus. One neurotransmitter associated with myoclonus is serotonin, which constricts blood vessels and brings on sleep. The other is gamma-aminobutyic acid (GABA), which helps the brain control the muscles.

Sounds like it could be whatever herbs you are mixing in changa preparation. But it could be them in combination with dmt. Try both on their own to really try and see whats causing it. Could only happen with both in which case change your mixture.

KungPow maybe these twitches could be small bouts of stored up energy in your body that you aren't using up and when you are smoking the Changa it is releasing that energy for you so that it isn't stored within you or blocked, or even maybe you have blocked energy within you and its trying to be released as your minds energy is being released by the Changa? Just some ideas that came to me about your situation. Best of Luck.......

Swim has had one or two twitchy moments, nothing too drastic though, just thought it was the way the spice works some times. However swim has said that 90% of the time he smokes spice within the first minute or so he finds he has the urge to urinate.

Any other swimmers get the urge????

If a mentally awake physical mind happens to observe (with real time or astral sight) it's projected double at close range during a projection, a strong visual and telepathic connection can form between them. This can be a very disturbing experience and I don't recommend this be tried for more than a few seconds at a time. The awake physical mind (whilst a projection is in progress) must see and be seen by it's projected double for this type of connection to occur. Vision, seeing each other at the same time, appears necessary for this type of connection to occur. Once this happens, each side of the mind split, physical and projected, connect and begin to see out of each other's eyes at the same time. Each becomes aware of each other's vision and perspective as well as that of their own.

Once the visual side of this connection occurs, each side of the mind split instantly becomes aware of each other's thought's as well, simultaneously and compounding. This appears to be something like telepathic feed back, much like holding two identical 'mental' mirrors facing each other. This gives an unnatural glimpse of mental infinity - a mental reflection of a mental reflection of a mental reflection, continually compounding.

When two identical minds connect, while separated during an oobe, the two identical sets of vision and thoughts create something that can best be described as a visual and telepathic loop, compounding and feeding back upon itself in a never ending loop. This is an unnatural, incomprehensible, disturbing and possibly dangerous event for any mortal mind to experience.

Maybe slightly off topic but SWIM had terrible leg and hand twitching on his right side, all his life, with or without drugs, stimulants would definitely make it worse.... about 3 months SWIM had an overdose on mescaline accidentally, it was a really bad trip actually, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and it generally put me off stuff in general... during the trip SWIM experienced the most outrageous body twitching, leg and hand were shaking uncontrollably...BUT next is the surprising part, since the trip ended, SWIMs leg and hand has completely stopped twitching, not twitched even once...so that's not twitching in 3 months and you've got to realise that SWIM was a kid when the condition started... I wouldn't say it would work for everyone (or even anyone actually)... but yeah, it was like the mesc wrung all the twitching out of me... and I was very surprised at this outcome...

EDIT: SWIM is not suggesting mescaline fixes twitching, just that something about the whole experience caused the twitching to stop... it was probably more of a psychological effect.

Thanks for all of the help. I will have to look into your link mattimus and read a lot of that. I don't really have a lot of knowledge about a lot of those kind of things so hopefully that will help me out a bit.

I have came to the conclusion that it isn't really a problem unless I make it one. So if it does happen again I am just going to lay there and enjoy it.

Hello,

SWIM has left leg upper thigh rapid twitches as she begins to "trance out," right before the actual launch happens. When she comes back there are no more twitches, though sometimes her hands are twisted into ugly arthritic formations that she can release without effort or significant pain.

No hx of seizures and off ALL meds for many months other than the ubiquitous Cannabis. It began happening when she began having intense breakthrough experiences and is now a routine part of her spice trips whether she breaks through or not - happens as soon as the trance seizes her and the intense CEV's begin . . .

Peace & Love,

Lately, I've been having intense tremors for about a minute after my high dose sessions. (100mg+) Sometimes I even get tremors right before I trip; so it's definitely not just the DMT.

Sit down in the lotus position, I have found that it allows you to "transmit" the energy right into the ground below.

My pre-trip tremors are definitely fear-induced, but they are not intense. There really isn't any way to "prepare" yourself for ego death, so I take the tremors as a mere physiological side effect. They don't always occur either.

In comparison my post-trip tremors feel like energy leaving my body and they can be very intense.

I know this is an old thread but reviving things is fun! Big grin

Anyway, I've been noticing that I get a slight twitch during and after a DMT journey as well lately. Particularly after intense experiences. It reminds me of that feeling when you are falling asleep (as Phlux mentioned) and are suddenly jerked back to reality for a second. It can be a bit distracting but not overwhelmingly so...

I was a little worried at first, but seeing as I don't have any family history dealing with seizures (I did have an epileptic step brother who unfortunately passed away from a grand mal seizure a couple years ago... but obviously we are not related by blood. RIP Kory.) I am a bit relieved to find that this is rather common it seems.

I don't think I've ever experienced twitching, that is, multiple twitches but I have felt a kind of intense release of the diaphragm at key stages after taking a reasonable sized dose of spice.

I think it's happened several times when smoalking dmt and it's seemed like part of the experience overall but only recently I was able to connect it back to something that physically happened in the body as well. I know in hyperspace it's something phenomenally important, something to do with having grokked some key element of what is being communicated and then being able to give a physical display of that understanding back.

In all of reality there are not two. There is just the one thing. And I am that.
