My friend asked me if i could ask you about something. He did today his second (after a first very low test batch) batch with 100g MHBR, 100g 99% Pure Lye, 1500ml Water and 3 100ml Naphtha pull so far.

He did every pull with heated Naphtha (water bath with empty container untill water is boiling, adding naphtha to container, let it cool down and added Naphta as soon as it was nearly to hot to touch). Then he shaked, waited untill layers where seperated, shaked, seperated, shaked again.

Then he decanted the Naphtha Layer to a smaller container and used a pipette to remove only Naphtha from the mix. He put the Naphtha directly in a Glass Baking Form (long size) and let it evap. He did this with every pull in the same Baking Form. When the first Pull evaped it formed some nice white/yellowish dots, but with pull 2 and 3 inside the pan these crystals started to "melt" and now whats left are red/yellow Drops that are very slimy, the pan doesnt smell anymore like Naphtha.

What did he wrong? Or can he use this goo also?

Hi there. SWIM had a similar problem. What kind of solvent are you using? SWIM found that using lighter fluid isn't so good... especially Zippo fluid. It seemed to pull a lot more than just the Spice. He was required to get the "goo" off the crystals by re-dissolving the spice in hot naphtha. Then he let it cool and put it back in the freezer. Results are yet to be seen. But before that SWIM had several nice whitish-yellow crystals. But they seemed saturated with that "goo."

You might want to give that advice to your friend as well.

On edit: After heating the naphtha and redissolving he poured the hot solution into another container before letting cool and putting in the freezer again.

My friend is using Medicinal Benzine ( it says on the bottle: Naphtha (Petroleum) ). I just spoke to my friends, he will now just scrape all the goo into a shot glass and slowly add some hot Naphtha into it untill everything is dissolved. He will see how much impurities he will see on the bottom.

I am just now unterstanding why there where crystals before, and then they slowly turned into the goo.

Oke, news from my friend!

As soon he started scraping off the goo with a rubber spatula it started to dry underneath, arround 2 or 3 drops of the yellow goo was put in seperate container.

Now he used a kitchen cleaning scraper to scrape the dry stuff that was still left in the Baking form, and magicale it turned out to be a huge layer of spice on the form, arround 1.7g he scraped off the form. (but there where no crystals on the pan just this whiteish layer)

He now made a recrystallisation with everything and is now waiting untill everything is cool and crystalized

But does anybody has a clue why there where first this yellow goo in the pan?

Yes, 2 reasons

1) STB always pulls out a lot of oils

2) using heated naphtha will pull more oils and a small amount of DMT N-Oxide (both are yellow).

The yellow is active, so don't throw it away.

Oke, so now he has an Espresso Cup with a little of the Oily stuff inside. How active is it actually? And can he just roll some MJ in it and Smoke it?

So unless he does A/B Extraction he will allways get this kind of Impurities?

My friend now got the spice back from the freezer, scraped off everything and now has got 160mg of Whithe Fluffy Crystals and arround 200mg Yellow slimy goo.

This from 2 Hot Naphtha Pull on 100g MHRB.

Should he do some more pulls?

What is the best to pull? Hot Naphtha inside then shake wait untill seperated and pull? Or should he agitate some more times? (the Teks i've read are all different)

i dont use hot naptha wit the STB and get almost white crystals forming. from 100g you should be getting more than 160mg, you should be able to get upto 1 gram.

Pull until you dont get any more out, its a good idea to agitate more and leave to seperate for longer on your later pulls, as there will be less dmt remaining in your material. I think most people do atleast 4 pulls.
Also as veda said you should expect anywhere from around .5-2% on your first yeild so try and get some more out

James pulled 2gr from 225gr MHRB. He thinks he has to change his MHRB/Lye mix soon. Its getting less and less. But now he has 2gr of pure white crystals (3 times recrystl.).

Thats when he comes to the point asking about changa

Imagine somebody wants to make a test batch with darco (its his first attemp). What ratio is prefered? Would be

300mg spice
450mg darco

work fine? It just looks so much less for him, especially the darco. doesnt look for him to fill even 1 pot from his bong

Anybody experienced with Changamaking? I still canot post in the regular forums, i would ask there.

BTW: The biggest mistake of my friend was: He didnt let the Snowglobes dry fully, it didnt smell like Naphtha, but maybe there was still water or even base in/on the crystals. So when he scraped it too early it was all sticky and not powdery. Waiting 1 or 2 Hours more made the whole work easier.
