Gentlemen,

I did a sodium carbonate wash with
* 50 ml Naphta
* 50 ml H20 and a pinch of sodium carbonate

After 5 minutes I decant the liquid.

The result at the end is:
* Lesser DMT crystal than before
* Crystal are looking like powder and more important they lost there typical smell.

Question:
* Is it normal that the DMT smell is lost after sodium carbonate wash?

Thx

Thanks SachiTheSearcher for the link, it is a good source of information.

BTW, the DMT smell that I mentioned is not unpleasant ...more like a cheap perfume.

Time will tell. I will post my scientific research results!

In all of reality there are not two. There is just the one thing. And I am that.

You do know a load of your DMT has dissolved in that naphtha, right? Unless it was properly freezing cold?

Are you perchance conflating a sodium carbonate wash and a naphtha recrystallisation?

I hope you haven't thrown that naphtha away! Stick it in the freezer and you might just get something back.

β€œThere is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Till now I thought that DMT always smells like a cheap perfume...

My fear is I used too much sodium carbonate.

Too much sodium carbonate would not make you lose DMT in any way.

How much less DMT did you get after the wash?

It's common for me to only get 80-90% of the input to a naphtha freeze precipitation with pure starting material (DMT fumarate). There always will be some DMT left in the naphtha, you could try evaporating or adding fumaric-acid saturated acetone to recover everything.

The loss of DMT is not the problem for me, I would say it is 40%.

DMT Aroma:
The disappearing of DMT smell/aroma is irritating for me, this was the focus of my question.
Is it the same for you?
DMT without smell is possible?

Thx
