My question is why do psychedelics effect your ability to climax when having sex. It's A common occurance For me.

dunno....angels (state of mind) having trouble to cum to that sort of (mental) friction....maybe? Unless it's cannabis...she loikes it...but human ladies complain of dry (mouth) syndrome (sometimes) whilst they may have less trouble with the former..(we think).
We still consider them aphrodisiacs, just not while we are tripping, but a few days/weeks/months/years onward.

I have never noticed any issue like that myself either.

Personally I love psychedelics and sex, it's an amazing combination.. I have no problem reaching an orgasm with psychedelics, maybe I can control it better but if I wanted to, I could def orgasm... But generally I prefer to control it and make it last long or even not cum at all, just give pleasure to my partner but not orgasm myself since I feel more energized than tired afterwards.

Psychedelics have lowered my libido. It no longer drives me anymore. I have no difficulty getting it up when doing the deed, but I no longer have sexualised thoughts while I'm sober.

In general, there's drugs that increase 5-HT signalling can alter sexual desire and function (SSRI-induced hyposexuality being the archetypal example of this). I'm not exactly sure which receptors specifically mediate sexual desire, but I believe 1A, AB, 2A, 2C, are all involved, and have varying effects.

Flibanserin (which is supposed to increase sexual desire in women) is a 1A agonist and 2A antagonist, although there's some question about how useful it actually is. Most psychedelics act as indiscriminate 5-HT agonists, so it's not surprising that there would be *some* change in sexual function.

It may even vary for individual to individual.

Although a range of substances enhance/decrease my libido, personally, psychedelics in and of themselves can be a sexual and orgasmic experience. Sometimes even greater than sexual activity, itself. I enjoy being absolutely swept up by psychedelics. I'm far moar likely to involve myself in sexual modes while on threshold-low doses of psychedelics. This method almost always extends my ability to build the climax rather than release it. Strong enough doses require my full attention, however.

Do you find that you have trouble focusing in and being fully present in the moment?

At high doses, sometimes the trip demands your attention. I personally find 200-300 mics of LSD (or 1P, to be more to the point) to be amazing as a sensitizer and fantasy enhancement. My partner and I have amazing rapport at that dosage range and it's easy to be fully present, almost hyper-present.

That being said, I also find it harder to orgasm, especially past onset or comeup. But...when it does happen closer to peak, it can catalyze total loss of self, insanely intense orgasms. It's worth a try.

I find it hard for me to generalize and I think I can ... not. I am a living being and not a robot. Sometimes I like to have sex on psychedelics (also depending on the dose!) and sometimes not. For example yesterday, the moment appeared just "perfect" but I was not in the mood and even the exciting attempts of "my woman" didn't change my mood. Often I/she can go with the other, yesterday, in this particular moment I didn't. Maybe 20min later, after letting it all go, we had a great experience together.

What I can say from my selfobservations is that my libido varries when I am sober and when on psychedelics as well. I had great sex while enhanced on psychecedlics and sometimes I am more interested in other things, or simply not able to.

In my experience, to relax and enjoy what is, instead of stressing myself to fullfill an image of how I/it should be, brings me more moments of pleasure than I expected.
