Hi, It seems to have been an accident for SWIM to have only purchases 56 grams of MHRB Powder since most of the TEKs require more. SWIM was going off of "QT's DMT Extraction for Students" which initially mentioned using 25-30 grams. SWIM has been reading the TEKS posted on the wiki. Both Vovin's tek and Norman's tek seem to allow for any quantity of root bark to be used, but SWIM is sure many others do without it being explicitly mentioned. So, given SWIM's 56 grams which tek will give him the best yield without taking such a long time, or happy medium that is balance of time and yield?

Do an STB. You can do an STB with any amount of bark. Use gram of lye per gram of bark, and at least 5ml water per gram of bark. Then use 1ml of naphta per gram of bark for each pull.

Noman's. Skip the ammonia wash, not worth it. If you are unhappy with the purity of your DMT (unlikely) you can re-crystalise or do a sodium carbonate wash.

Definitely Noman's with freeze/precipitation.

SWIM is also finding it impossible to find NAOH, is there a store someone knows that carry an acceptable form? People keep saying to try and find "Roebic, Crystal Drain Opener" which seems to be either discontinued or rarely carried. What other known brands are acceptable? Or which chemical is the best substitute for sodium hydroxide?

Ace hardware sells drain opener that is 100% lye. Red Devil drain opener is the only brand i've heard though.

Red Devil Lye exists online through Jason Duda's biodiesel store; Duda Diesel on ebay or his online store at www.dudadiesel.com. I know people are probably gonna raise objection due to the fact that it requires you to buy watched chemicals online, but you can always get a friend to buy it/ship it to their house and pay them for it. The product is pure NaOH and I can't think of an easier way to get it.

Well, Down would acidify, and is unnecessary when white vinegar is so cheap. I'm also going to assume that using Up to basify won't work because it more than likely won't get anywhere near a high enough pH.

There is Lye to be bought...with cash...at hardware stores in most cities, although it is becoming harder & harder to find!
Ace sells it in most areas.
I highly suggest NOT buying it from an on-line store that specializes in selling a watched chemical though!!
Most of those types of suppliers are regulated by the Govt & are required to keep records of the names of the people they sell to...just in case.
Please be smarter than that!

SWIM is looking to either find lye in a local hardware store or find a suitable substitute. What is the best, more-easily attainable substance by which swim can basify to the correct pH?

You could also use Sodium Carbonate, but it takes a whole lot more of it!!

There are others too, but I can't think of any of them right now...

Have you looked at the Ace Hardware in your area?
They started carrying it again within just the last year or so.

It is flakes like lye is supposed to be, and not like the pH Up. Does someone know if this stuff will work?

There is an ACE Hardware SWIM can try. SWIM has never been to one. The online store seems to sell products only in bulk, is this the same for the stores?

Those pH adjusters for swimming pools are not a good thing to be using for something you plan to put in your body.!!!

There is more than just Lye in there...don't know what it is, so I wouldn't use it!!
There is no way of knowing if the other "stuff" in there will come along for the ride, into the solvent, then into your DMT, then into you!!

Just be patient & keep looking!!
You do not want to use draino, or any other product that only "contains lye"!!! You want 100% lye crystals!

BTW, 100% lye is not flakes, it's like little rocks & powder.

Be careful, smart & patient man!!!
It will be worth it...you will be happy that you did things correctly!!!
You'll also know...without a doubt...that what you are inhaling is only DMT & not some kind of pool cleaner.

yea, lucky for SWIM he has friends, no quotes needed, who are in the position to obtain biodiesel supplies with no questions asked. God knows there's no uses for lye aside from making meth and DMT. Where SWIM lives there's no 100% lye drain cleaner and they look at you like you're the sketchiest person in the world if you walk into any hardware store and ask for lye. He has had to rely on the power of the interweb.

I pointed out that people would take issue with ordering online generally to avoid the remarks and scandal caused by someone suggesting such a dastardly action, however, clearly that was not sufficient. Yes, lye is watched by the feds. Yes, there are other ways to obtain it. Yes, it is possible to order it online, use it and not get caught as a result of having a paper trail. I would not advise buying 5 kilos online, but in general there are ways to put space between yourself and the seller in ways that do not compromise anyone's safety or security.

It's not worth an argument and that's all i'm going to say regarding ordering lye online. Good luck to you mushtomb!
