I´m new here, even though DMT and his well-known Analogues are well known, but one can never have enough information, so I hope to find a new place to share mine and can proceed learning new things. To me: I´m 26, living (and during summer usually traveling) in/through Europe.
I made an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant/technician(don´t know which expression fits better in english), but after working a few years, I wanted a new challenge, so at the moment I´m studying physics.
My first contact with psychedelics happened a few years back. A friend got some psilocybe cubensis and shared them with me. I was so impressed, and a long lasting passion began. Tryptamines I have known and loved... For me, a bit more like "only" a book. My fascination and curiosity where guiding me to a lot of good experiences, but also to some less good ones. I think, the most people here could say something similiar. My travel brought me to some popular Tryptamines and Phenethylamines like 4-AcO-DMT, 2-CE, LSD, 2-CB 4-HO-MIPT, to some pretty unknown ones like 2-CT-7, HOT-7, 2-alpha-DMT, 5-MEO-TMT, GANESHA, ETH-LAD or alpha-MT.
But still, one of the most impressive experiences I had with DMT and 5-MeO-DMT. My first "contact" to this kind of an other universe of consciouness was with 5-MeO-DMT, about two years later I had the first contact to N,N-DMT. After that, I wanted to know everything about that fascinating molecules. I read everything I could find about Rick Strassmanns studies, McKenna´s experiences and more, after that. I won´t negate, that psychedelics changed me, changed my mind. But as far as I could claim today, the majority of changes have been positive in some kind of way. You´ll get an other point of view about humans and their behaviour, what they do to the nature and you can´t understand how greed to power and money guide them to destroying it without thinking about consequences. Perhaps because you could have a tiny bite of that cake of wisdom, that showed you how deeply everything is connected?

Whatever! For now, my motivation was the lack of extraction Tek´s concerning the use of a Soxhlet apparatus. The information about this are pretty rare surprisingly, because it is specifically made for any kind of extractions?! No matter of extracting essential oils or solid stuff. So, at the moment I´m working on evaluating a method using this apparatus. Of course, if you buy it new, it´s pretty expensive. But when you look on sites like ebay, you´ll see that you can get one for about 30-80€. At least in Europe, but I could imagine the situation is not that different at other places. I think that the Soxhlet can make some steps definitely more pleasant. Of course you´ll need any kind of purification process afterwhile, perhaps an Acid-Base step or recrystallization.
Well then, I hope that my evaluation will give some good results I could share with you at the end! And of course, suggestions and ideas concerning this "project" are very welcome!
But please don´t expect any kind of Video-Tutorial or an instruction where every little step is explained meticulously. Because I believe, if someone really wants to have this experience, he will manage it and get the neccesary extra-informations if required. But somekind of tutorial where really everybody can get this powerfull substance is contraproductive in my opinion. It´s huge power simply needs some caution, information and preparation. Anyway, it has to be proofen first, but I´m confident, that it will work, but it will also last some time until the Tek can be proofen well-working.
