Hi everyone Smile

Recently couple of my very close friends and I managed to reunite after a long separation, and we decided that we were in good places in our lives to venture beyond.

For ease of reading I will reference myself as simply I, and my 3 friends; A, B, and C.

I had the largest amount of entheogenic experiences, A had one major lucy trip, while the rest just some minor ones. Everyone was preparing for the night for a couple of weeks beforehand, getting their diets in order and practicing meditation. I decided A, B and I to stick with spice, while wishing to open the doors with lucy for C (~350ug), so that in worst case scenario C would have 3 sitters, what with spice lasting a short time. Both of the substances have been tested for purity and potency by Energy Control. The setting was a large lightly lit living room with 2 single beds and a few armchairs. Entheogenic playing in background C dosed, and the rest of us decided to ease ourselves into hyperspace by gradualy increasing the dosing. Everything was going well. We were talking, the atmosphere and moods were great, and C was still climbing. He was completely coherent, looked sober but claimed that he's so far away that he's not using his eyes to see anymore. 2 hours in B had to leave, and that's when things started turning bad, so A and I decided to drop the spice and switch the music to some calm ambient. He claimed his anchors to reality (red beads and a mirror) weren't working anymore and kept asking who we are, where he is, did he take anything and what time was it, as if he was trying to figure out which of the multiple realities he existed in were real. At this point the three of us were sitting on a couch, while A and I kept doing our best to calm him down, holding his hands, trying to persuade him to smoke some weed and/or have a pint. He kept escalating, and at this point he started telling us that he killed us and bolted for the door saying home, as if the table in between wasn't there. There was no point in using force to stop him since he was 6'3 weighing over 200lb so I decided to just get infront of him and say let's sit on the couch, he nodded and ran back to the couch as if that was the most reasonable thing to do. He started getting more and more aggresive, but not directly towards us, just like he would be defending himself from the ensuing chaos. Unfortunately I got my face smashed right in, but we still kept trying to talk him down. Shortly thereafter he bolted towards the mirror on the wall, took it off and punched right through it. At this point the entire room looked like an angry mob walked right through it and he kept trying to get out of the apartment, he went completely psychotic. I signaled A that the only thing we could do for the safety of all of us was to make the call for 911, so I grabbed the phone, ran out and waited for the help to arrive. When they got there A was with C in the hallway doing his best to stop him from leaving, but somehow C fell down a flight of stairs and left a dent in the wall, he looked fine and no less hyperactive when bobbies cuffed him. The EMT's(we told him what he was on) checked our retinas and admitted that A and I were straight, told us to grab his things from the house and escorted him to the ambulance. That was T+6H

About 6 hours later there was a knock on the door and behold, it was C, asking both of us what the fuck just happened. He was completely fine, just really loud on telling us what happened to him after they took him away. They gave him an IV and a couple of shots while having him tied up to a bed. He said that while he was in hospital he was still convinced that this world wasn't real and found it ridiculously easy to un-restrain himself and infiltrate the hospital reception to steal someone's cookies. He came back to us after they let him go.

This was 3 days ago and he seems completely fine. Really open about everything, saying that he needs some time to process this, but we still closely monitor him and still will for a couple of weeks. A and I were just sore and had a lot of cleaning to do.

The general purpose of this thread is to remind everyone that they should never be afraid to seek help from professionals if shit hits the fan so hard they can't contain it themselves, human life is more important than legal fallout (although bizzarely there was completely nothing of the sorts).

Really sorry to hear this. Fortunately it sounds like all concerned have come out as unscathed as can be expected. After my experiences, I’m actually really surprised that serious flipping scenarios like this don’t happen more often. There is no way of telling how anyone will react, it isn’t really something I feel anyone can personally prepare for to easily.

I can definitely relate to this and this is where I get scared the most. I considered myself a reasonably open person but once reality started dissolving and my connection to it became faint for the first time I was pretty distressed getting really agitated and almost starting to scratch myself as my mind desperately tied to control and stop things. I can see how easily fighting it could easily turn into full blown panic when nothing can stop it and psychotic behaviour occurs. It is like ultimate powerlessness.

I find DMT at least also has a freaky way of dissolving the duality between the self and the experience i.e. the separation between feeling and our own being gets blurred. This makes anything frightening or scary 100x stronger since I embody and become these feelings rather than just feeling them but knowing they are not me and will pass like we do as adults. For me the ‘danger time’ is the ride in, once the substance has control the mind can’t fight anymore and why I have found lower doses harder. It sounds like from you report LSD possibly has similar properties and the duration is why I’ve stayed away.

I’m not sure where you are but I believe in the US some states have a ‘good samaritan’ law which protects those who seek medical help for someone due to drugs from being prosecuted.

Lots of material has been written on when to seek medical help and I have read many cases where people having a psychedelic crisis (for want of another term) and dealt with very poorly as to the medics nothing is physically wrong and they are left to deal with it unsupported in a poor setting. Many medics also often have contempt for those who ‘waste their time’ (suicide attempts, self harm and drugs).

Once the person reaches the ‘danger to themselves and others’ category like you describe I think it is the only option.

Btw thank for the tip on Energy Control. Not cheap but could prove useful to me one day. There is the free service from WEDINOS in Wales but that is far less in depth.

Energy Control tests are fully refundable by a certain organisation.

As to why such scenarios are uncommon I guess that majority of the people focus on fighting inside their minds, like I have had one day. Also I respect spice for incapacitating me so that the chaos is very unlikely to manifest outside, other than giggling and strange hand motioning Big grin

In my experience an LSD Peak can trigger a basic Fight/Flight response. In me, and I assume most people it would be Flight. I've tried a couple of times to jump out of my chair and head for the door. I had friends present who just put their hand on my shoulder and me back in my chair, telling me "Chill out, it's just the acid." No big problem there. I've only known two people in the past who became combative while on LSD, and I believe it's a rare occurence.

Sounds like you did the proper planning and took the proper action when it was needed. Glad no one was badly hurt.

Hi kezsel ☺ Im sorry to hear about your experience, but Im glad that it turned out well for you and your friends! You mention "strange hand motioning", I would be very interested in hearing what you mean by that. Is it something that sometimes happens to you after smoking DMT? And, in that case would you describe it like a jerking motioning of your hand? Pz out Cool

it sounds so much like what happened to a friend of mine. she took two hits for the first time and had a very similar experience. a new person entered the apartment we were in and she didn't recognise him and became increasingly confused until she was doing the same thing, experiencing multiple realities, the works--my friend also settled on the worst case scenario (where your friend thought he had killed you both, mine decided her family was dead) and then started being violent and trying to escape. luckily she's a lot smaller than your friend so easy to gently restrain with a couple people.

we gave her a valium and she started on this whole red pill/blue pill loop. i got her alone in a dark room, sat with her and was very very very patient and swam her home. she was fine after

i really feel the best thing for someone in a situation like this, if they are nonviolent or at least not a threat, is to be alone with someone who's more experienced than them, perhaps on the same drug, and just be guided back to reality gently until the drug is out of their system. tho tripping in an ambulance is probably a blast.

Haven't been on this site in a while, but felt drawn back today, only to see this thread. Something very similar happened to me a while back.

A friend brought over some strong doses of cid - liquid drops on some sweets. She ended up flipping out and thought that my fiancee and I were plotting to kill her! She kept forgetting what was going on and looping back to the idea that we were trying to harm her, shaking uncontrollably, trying to call her mum, freaking out again when we coaxed the phone off her, and round and round for maybe 5-6 hrs before the peak started to subside. Had to call a sober friend to come round in case things really got out of hand. Nexus chat members were also very helpful, and helped me stop panicking so I could help her properly. These things happen, and they are not easy to manage, especially if reality is dissolving all around you. Good job keeping your cool, I can see how situations like this could get very messy. Also a good reason to always have some benzos on hand just in case. Has this affected your friendship at all?

A slight tangent but I really wish more research would be done on a psychedelic trip ’abort’ options; kind of a Naloxone for psychedelics. Enduring what can be up to 8hrs of crisis is very serious for the person and others around them. I’ve had bad *moments* but the possibility of multi-hr train wreck always has me worried.

I have read a reasonable amount of anecdotal evidence that the anti-psychotic Quetiapine (Seroquel) works also some that (to a lesser extent) Xanax can but some controlled testing would be very nice!

Nah, the friendship was left unscathed, I would even risk saying that it got stronger.

Regarding benzos, I was always a huge opposer of those, since I've seen a couple of people get heavily addicted on them. Looking back I wish I'd be able to abort the madness pharmaceutically.

Sorry you had to go through that. I've been on both ends of that situation and it can indeed be extremely scary and even dangerous. I think people underestimate how often that happens and think just because they've tripped dozens or even hundreds of times that it can't happen to them, but it can. This is where preparation and a supportive environment are key. Horrible things can happen once a highly energized delusional state is reached, and an inability to let go is a big factor in sparking it all.

Good to hear Thumbs up I'm very selective about who I journey with because of experiences like this.

Benzos are not generally something I would recommend, but as a safety net they can be invaluable. Taking them recreationally is certainly a bad idea.
