the rise of SSRIs

Yes, years ago i tried various antidepressants. I found tricyclics to help with my insomnia, however my Doctor later put me on SSRI'S and i had a lot of strange effects from them including a 'forced' feeling of happiness i disliked, and suicidal thoughts.

I believe it is important for a patient to do their own research into the types of antidepressants they believe would assist better. MAOI's like Moclobemide seem to be very safe indeed, and are available in the UK.

Now get ready for some incredible heresy here,

but

what if

these so called "chemical imbalances" in the brain were the result of eating a diet filled with neurotoxins and lacking foods containing actual neurotransmitters and neurotransmitter precursors.

and

what if

simply eating a diet full of nt and ntp rich foods like say, fresh fruits and vegetables, had significantly more effect at balancing these "chemical imbalances" than daily doping with pharmaceuticals.

I know, I know,

how unorthodox!

maybe in 50 years or so men and women in nice labcoats will statistically validate what common sense has told us is true all along. Confused

probably not

Neuroinflammation has also been implicated in depression and various psychiatric disorders and is absolutely related to diet via the gut-brain axis. Honestly the more and more i learn about human physiology the dumber and dumber the idea of pharmaceutical medication sounds. Sure there's a time and place, but matters of causality are lost on all aspects of this society. Reductionism and refinement is not saving us, it's destroying us.
