Greetings everybody I really hope you doing well, in love and full of harmony I have a little question about dissolving DMT and harmala in IPA, and hope someone can share some knowledge. Actually its kinda silly but here is the situation. I want to take some changa to my brother, who lives in another country. And the only way i can do it is to dissolve some dmt and harmala in IPA ,placing it in a small liqeur bottle. While im with my bro i cant make changa instantly, because we have another big trip in front of us. Im planning to keep the molecule and harmala in IPA for about 1 and a half month and only after infusing it in a smoking blend. My question is, will the alkaloids be still active after so much time in IPA ? Thanks for your time buds Tons and tons of positive vibes to you all Best regards Imperare sibi maximum imperium est. “To rule yourself is the ultimate power." Seneca

Hi BioBoostedSpirit, my knowledge about these things is very limited, but as far as i know, given that the IPA isn't exposed to heat or light, particularly sun light, the IPA is a very good choice for storage. I guess the 99% IPA would be more advisable than the 70%, but either should work. But let's wait for a second opinion to be safe. FromMeToYou

You shouldn't have any issues to fret over. That's not a very long time. There is a thread here somewhere that discusses just this, can't recall who started it , but they call the IPA/DMT mix "tincher", not tincture so it should be easy to google. Personally that's how I store a fair quantity of spice for travelling. Best luck, safe travels and HAPPY TRAILS!Sine experientia nihil sufficienter sciri potest -Roger Bacon *γνῶθι σεαυτόν*

Why IPA? Harmala freebase is not very soluble in it AFAIK. Best would be methanol, then comes ethanol. With ethanol, your liqueur bottle will also smell the most "natural".
Make sure that whatever solvent alcohol you use, it doesn't contain any nonvolatile denaturing agents that would remain in the changa after evaporation.

FromMeToYou, null24, pitubo, thank you so much for responding on my question. I super appreciate it Can i shake your hand? BTW, you got my attention with Ethanol. I made a quick internet search about local availability, no one has it (Ethanol), the only solvent i found is Bio-Ethanol. Now, once again sorry for my ignorance. Does those two are similar? Will Bio-Ethanol work as well as Ethanol? Im trying to read some information about those two on the internet, but because of my language barrier and chemistry knowledge i cant understand whole of it. Bio-ethanol usually contains denaturing agents, to keep people from drinking it (and evading tax.)
Your best bet is medicinal ethanol. It can be bought at most pharmacies. It will be more expensive than bio-ethanol, because of the taxes, but is free from denaturing agents (or it should be, ask to be sure) and is usually 95.5 % ethanol, with the remaining 4.5 % being water. This is fine for dissolving your compounds of interest.
If asked for your purpose of the ethanol, you can say that you want to make a herbal tincture. Search around on the internet for what kind of tincture you would be interested in.
Verify that you are getting real ethanol and not some other alcohol. Alcohols for disinfection can be methanol or propanol, or a mixture.
