I took 25 mg DMT in two hits. After about 15 seconds I felt the usual physical effects. Arms and legs that felt like weighing hundred of tons, intense warmth from head to toe, a sense as if the electricity flowed through my body. All very pleasant and satisfying. It continued for about 15 minutes.

But this time visuals did not appear. With closed eyes I only saw a deep purple infinity.

How can this phenomenon be explained? What went wrong?

Expectations are what went wrong.
Remember to walk into each experinece with an open mind & to look at each individual experience as it is - unique & powerful in its own way.
When you learn to do that, many doors seem to open up.

It certainly was a unique experience. But because my intentions were the same as with previous trips it still puzzles me.

Vape method?
What i have noticed is that regardless of ROA, the phsyical effects are more prominent with sub breakthrough doses, once a larger dose is reached, the physical effects level off & give way to a breakthrough.

With vaping it can be tricky to get enough spice inhaled in a short enough time & even those who have perfected vaping technique down to single inhalations miss the mark sometimes.

Edit: in regards to expectations, what I was getting at was that sometimes when you miss the mark there is still much that can be gained from what you experience in sub-breakthrough territory.
My initial post seemed a bit pretentious without further elaboration.

Intention is only a very small piece of the puzzle. If DMT is a pitcher, its favorite pitch is the curve ball (or the even more unpredictable knuckleball ).

IMHO, to answer your question: to think that something went "wrong".

ROA = Route of Administration. Different ways of getting drugs in your body.

You can do inhalation, oral, buccal, intra-veinous, and some kind of funky ones like intra-occular, or subcutaneous.

Look, I don't know how crazy this sounds, but sometimes the doors of the Hyperspace are closed for you, and bouncers just don't want to let you in. I believe there is a very strong reason this matters. And it is mostly for your own good.

Was pretty much just trying to emphasize how incredibly unpredictable DMT is. If you think you've got it figured out or you know how it's gonna go, it will find a way to show you something you didn't think was possible within the realm of experience.

This seems a bit common...in my latest experience, I was denied entry. I felt an extreme body load and visuals built and built until I tried for the breakthrough. The "breakthrough" attempt was nothing but pure energy buzzing through me as I saw nothing but my plain Jane living room in an expanded and panoramic view. The effects were very strong yet I went nowhere...very strange but accepted it for what it was. You can read more about it here if interested.

I don't even get visuals anymore on sub-breakthrough doses. The only things I ever see anymore are the entities or the presentations that they are showing to me (this only occurs at breakthrough doses). When I first started, the visuals were extremely colorful and chaotic and presumably what most people get, but have reduced significantly the last few years. Taking a break doesn't seem to influence it either.

It's almost as if the visuals that you see at first are used by the inhabitants of hyperspace as a smoke screen to hide from the eyes of hyperspace adventurers. At a certain point they decide you're "cool" and then drop the charade.
