Thank you for this amazing forum. I just discovered it and am learning a lot. I have an important question about the safety of my first pharmahuasca experience. I am trying the capsule version of Syrian rue and subsequently acacia confusia. I saw that in dealing with ayahuasca proper it is important to have the body free of many herbal substances. I take supplements daily which includes Lithium Orotate which is different from the pharmaceutical Lithium. Could this supplement cause problems with my intended pharmahuasca experiment? Should I wait for the Lithium Orotate to get completely out of my system first? Thanks so much for your help in this matter.

I am not a Doctor so my advice should be taken with a grain of salt. If the lithium you are taking is not prescribed, I would still recommend weening yourself off of it before taking this plunge, just to be safe. Corpus Callosum is a member here who happens to be a moderator and a medical doctor so you can send him a PM if you are really concerned. Besides that, it is wise to be free of anything that might interact with an MAOI because that could be the difference between a life changing experience to a life ending ( literal death, not ego death) experience.

May I ask, why are you taking Lithium Orotate?

I agree with The Grateful One that it'd be better to be off it completely before taking ayahuasca/pharmahuasca.
