Yep. I once got stuck in a time loop, where the same things seemed to happen over and over and over and over again. It was very confusing. A bit scary too.

I often get stuck in circular thougthts. From literary fractals, to trying to describe something so abstract that i can only make circles around it with words.

like: Everything is everything else. well, there are different points of information that communicate to other points of information, but the communication is a piece of information, which is something, which is never really separated from the thing that is doing the communicating, so its like one point of stuffness is touching another point of stufness, but thats just another piece of information making the whole thing connected.

I once got stuck in a mind loop that went like this: "What is a question"

Sounds like a recursive elevator, lifting you out of your mind. Smile

It may be useful, if you know when to step out.

I had this a couple of times. It gives me the creeps. i get a strange sort of claustrophobia from it. like a mental lock-up.

You can only get out of it by KNOWING that you will get out, even if that seems totally empty and meaningless knowledge at the moment itself.

The thought looping is a fairly common effect of LSD, but not so much with DMT.
However it does happen with DMT too!! And when it does, it's a mind fucker for sure!!
You don't have the familiar visual stimulus for your mind to "grab a hold of" & help stabilize itself, like you do with LSD!!

The way I deal with it, is to simply not think of anything!!
Take away the oxygen...the fire dies out!

I know that seems impossible at the time, but it's not!
You just have to quiet your internal monologue down to just a thread of thought, by just watching it & letting any thoughts go, as soon as they pop up.
No matter how important, weird, horrible or even enjoyable they may be!! Or how many times the same one pops up...over & over & over again.
Just recognize it & let it go.
Think of it as making room for the next set of thoughts/visions/whatever to come along & be observed!

I do this before smoking DMT, to get over the anxiety & go into the whole experience relaxed & ready to accept whatever comes at me...quietlyWink
I sometimes try to explain whats happening to myself, while it's happening!! Like a play-by-play commentator or something, it's freaking irritating!!
Then of course it causes whatever visionary effects I was so wrapped up in to stop happening, because I'm paying too much attention to it.Confused
But if I quiet my mind & just watch whats going on...good, or bad...just watch it. I tend to remember more & get more out of it!!
It's like I'm not blocking the input, with the process of making my own thoughts, so I'm able to take more in & comprehend it better too.

Such a paradox!
"You can only hear me if you stop listening so hard, if you can see me I'll disappear. Just know I'm here & I'll show you everything."

Anyway, do some reading about basic transcendental meditation techniques to learn more about direct methods of...not thinking.
Plus you'll learn about using TM to relax your mind when you are not in hyperspace too!
I use the breathing techniques all the time to simply relax in tense & uneasy situations, or even to physically cool down a little bit, when I'm hot & sweaty!!

BTW, I'm not talking about years of practice & studying or anything, just learning the basic, quieting the mind, watching the breath, concentrating on not concentrating type techniques should be more that enough to get you started & to see if it's gonna work for you.
Although practicing these techniques in everyday life enough times that it starts to become natural is a good idea!!
That way, you can do it without having to think to hard about it, when you are in the thick of hyperspace.
Or else you more than likely won't be able to remember how to get it started.
I've been using these breathing techniques long enough now that it's just a natural reaction anymore.
When I start to feel uneasy, or trapped in a situation, I'll begin breathing very slowly (& watching it) & quieting my mind without even thinking about it now.

It's a good thing!Wink

With me, I have a good chance of getting stuck in a loop when I take too much rue with my pharmahuasca. I decided a while ago to lower my rue-extraction dose to only 100mg. With this lowered dose I didn't get stuck in a loop anymore.

SWIM went on a thought loop with acid once, and the funny thing is, SWIM didnt realize it.. SWIM was repeating the same things (like a 2 mins speech about some situation he was going through) over and over and over... The wife was quite scared, thought he had gone insane for good.. But he was just unaware and happily repeating himself, haha
