Hello,

I recently went to a Santo Diame ceremony - they receive their "Daime" from Brazil so it seemed like none of them actually knew how it was created or the ingredients.

Does anyone possibly know what is in this concoction and how it is brewed?

A couple of aspects about it - I drank a small double shot. The effect of this one shot was super powerful (these guys drink 6 cups in the 9 hours, I denied all the rest lol considering that one shot was murderously powerful) the other aspect of it is that it tasted absolutely amazing. I was very surprised by how nice it tasted as I have never heard anyone say this stuff tastes good.

I've made my own pharma out of acacia & syrian rue and obviously this did not taste very good and certainly was not condensed as much as this beautifully tasting Diame was.

Any ideas / knowledge would be appreciated.
 

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

From my understanding it is typically 'Ourinhos' B. Caapi with Chacruna (P. Viridis)
Brew made with fresh ingredients I hear is sweet with a slight bitter aftertaste

The most likely culprit is in the brewing style itself & not the ingredients.
Freshness of ingredients may play a role, but I believe the daime served within the church is probably brewed at the main branch outside the u.s. by a skilled ayahuascero or brewmaster.

Think Mel. Maybe what is going on is they have perfected the art of brewing a mel style ayahuasca that is still thin, yet retains the sugars & flavor of fresh materials well.

This is just theory. I have never attended a daime ceremony, but brewing is most deffinately an art each individual will learn their own style & advanced techniques along the way.

Even if it was brewed a long time ago, as long as the ingredients were fresh it will be sweet. I got to try some really old brew and it had the sweet taste he described. Granted it was brewed by an extremely skilled person, but still Razz.

One smooth liquid cup. I found it unstrong in Holland but taste was Yummee Very happy

This definitely tasted like something brewed with the expertise of a brewmaster, even the bottle seemed to suggest a lot of work went into their sacrament. I read somewhere of how they might brew it from one of the Diame websites but there are so many that it is difficult to find that one specific blurb again; I seem to recall there being a slightly different process for "Diame" than traditional ayahuasca just can't put my finger on what it might be, it may literally be letting it sit for a week or something like that.
