Hey guys,

I just thought I would introduce myself to this very special community. My name is John (you can call me John or Johnny).

It's strange how I came about here - I actually have never taken DMT before, but have recently become very intrigued by the idea. One of the sites that came up when I was searching for answers to this mysterious substance, was of course this site. I've also been on an irreversible MAOI for a few weeks, and it led to me reading a lot about DMT. I take it for my depression and bad social anxiety, which I have had for a number of years now.

I know a lot a people who use/have used psychedelics. They are more like people who respect drugs like these so to speak. I have heard of DMT and have always been curious about it, but since having some bad experiences on other drugs (really bad trips with the wrong people), I have never had the chance to try it yet. From my research on this site I understand that you have to extract it yourself; this will be just one of the hurdles along the road to me finally trying DMT, there is a lot standing in my way at the moment, but I will be patient.

Is there anything you would like to know guys? Please feel free to ask. I'm a friendly guy with an open mind.

If I may ask, what are some of the brief details involving a bad trip? What substance was it?

It seems you've learned the hard way how to respect psychedelics but that's great you see their potential even though having a less than awesome experience with them. You have found yourself in a great community if you want to do research on them. Not just DMT, the people here are pretty knowledgeable about psychedelics, experience, integration, extraction the entire thing. You landed in a good spot people here are extremely supportive. Welcome!

And while you don't absolutely have to extract it, it is by far the most rewarding route. The process will teach you a lot about the plant, the substance itself and even you!

You can call me Sentinel that's fine too

I actually chose that name for a reason. I've always been a quiet person, but very strong minded. I thought the name is appropriate for me as it means a guard, who keeps watch.

The bad trips were from years ago when I was not so responsible. I was only around 18 and it was MDMA mostly. I know it's not really a psychedelic, but I took an insane (and very irresponsible) amount. I can't remember exactly how much, but it was a huge amount. I remember coming up for a while and things were fine until I got that dreaded feeling. You know the one - "I've done it now, it's too much".

What happened after that was a nightmare for me. I collapsed on the coach in this random persons house and couldn't move or speak properly. I won't go into details now, but it was not nice, and the people around me didn't help either.

I was a lot younger at the time and irresponsible. I don't regret it though because it taught me a lot about the true nature of people. Now I'm older I can look back on it objectively.
