Hello!

I am currently an undergrad student studying electrical engineering. I first heard about the spice from a coworker about a year ago, and I'll admit I had very little interest in it at the time. Since then I've tried Psilocybin mushrooms twice, LSD a few times, and I smoke Marijuana just about every day (I'm planning on dialing that down a bit next quarter). I only recently became seriously interested in the spice (I have yet to try it). I've been spending many many hours reading about it over the past few weeks, and I re-established contact with my aforementioned coworker.

Curiosity has been my main motivation in the past when considering trying any new substances, and when I first started reading about the spice I was interested in it primarily as another new experience. I have a different attitude now. From what I've read it sounds more like a new frontier of unfathomable expanse waiting to be explored one trip at a time.

I have assembled all of the supplies for Noman's Tek and my MHRB is scheduled to arrive soon! Assuming everything goes smoothly with the extraction I am considering trying the spice for the first time with either a very close friend or my coworker. While my coworker is more of an acquaintance, he is very experienced with the spice.

If I decide to continue using the spice after my first experience or two (I believe I will but obviously there is no way to know), I look forward to learning from and contributing to this community! I plan on writing trip reports each trip. I have extensive knowledge of smoking apparatus as well as a collection of glass because of my marijuana habits; I suspect that there may be more efficient, safer, more accurate (referring to dosage) and more cost effective ways of vaporizing freebase DMT that are not well documented.

If anyone has a suggestion as to who would be a better person to have my first experience with I would love any advice!

Thanks for reading and happy exploring everyone! Expect a trip report soon!

Vapor Genie... I'll leave it there. Pleased

In my opinion, the best person is yourself. DMT/hyperspace is a very personal experience and oftentimes other people only distract from the inner worlds. That said, some people do enjoy smoking with others. Be warned, however, the DMT-Nexus should not be used to serve this function as we have a rule in place discouraging members from real world meetups. This is to protect members from possible negative legal issues.

Keep us posted if you jump in the deep end!

My apologies, I was unclear! I meant that I was deciding between my friend and my coworker, not that I was looking for a person to meet up with. Do you think the benefits of having a trip-sitter are outweighed by the possible (or probable, I wouldn't know) negative effect on the personal nature of the trip? I suppose since the effects are significantly shorter it is much less likely that a trip-sitter would come in handy, however I do feel knowing somebody is there to take care of me no matter what happens could be comforting knowledge. What are your thoughts?

∞ votes from me for the Glass VaporGenie.

There are probably comparable vaping tools out there somewhere, but the GVG is simple, efficient and reliable. It’s easy to launch with little-to-no throat or lung discomfort and virtually no taste—once you get the technique down, at least.

Everyone’s needs are different.

The first time, I couldn’t have launched on my own, I was very wary and a sitter was useful—nowadays, I find working with others uncomfortable, I fly solo. I hope one day I’ll find the right situation and co-pilot(s).

I trust myself in difficult situations and, with over half my life working with psychedelics, I’m fairly sure I can deal with issues spice throws at me better alone. My interest is in diving in at the deep end, it isn’t particularly sociable affair. Picking up the pieces after can be hard work at times and, at worst, others get in the way. For some, trusted partners may give reassurance, I just feel awkward.

Others add the potential for uncomfortable distraction. I need to control my environment to a degree not possible with anyone I currently know. Over the past years I’ve usually worked in silence and find things as small as the breathing, swallowing and moving of co-pilots can get in the way. I work with music sometimes, this covers these small sounds, at least.

Situation is personal, whatever. Experiment and see what works best for you!

Thank you for your advice! I think I will try my first experience with my close friend trip-sitting (perhaps from a different room?), and experiment solo next. Hopefully I will have tried both by the end of next week, I will let you all know how it goes!

My first journey was with someone I knew reasonably well, not a close friend though. It was an “alright” experience, I completed the journey wondering what all the fuss was about! Maybe I could have relaxed more and had something deeper if it had been someone I was closer to, I don’t know. My next journey, solo, was a lot further down the hole. It was a shock, but at least I was more relaxed going in than I was the previous time.

As mentioned above, it is all personal preference. Some prefer to fly solo, others like to have a sitter.

I've had scenarios whereby my 'sitter' has distracted me by moving around or making noises. Other times, I've been thankful to have him there. The first time I took a breakthrough dose, I started to panic as I began to lose the ability to control my breathing; panic set in but I was unable to make any words come out of my mouth, it can be a daunting experience at first. Knowing that somebody is there (even better if they know what you're experiencing) can have its benefits.

If you have a long term 'hyperspace partner' then it does seem to create some kind of bond, on a completely different level. A close friend is my hyperspace buddy, we don't sit eachother anymore, we go at the same time. Sometimes he will mumble or shuffle around which CAN be distracting if you're not already in the hyperspace realms, othertimes as I mentioned above it is just nice to know that somebody is there if anything goes wrong.

You should also consider how you feel in yourself, I get the distinct impression that many DMT users are introspective and somewhat introverted so just consider how you feel when being observed. Does it make you feel uncomfortable? Could you really sit back and relax knowing that somebody is studying you intensely? These are conversations that you should have before-hand.

I hope that helps, as it is my own experience of your very dilemma.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

Welcome to the Nexus!

We all know the old saying, "curiosity killed the cat" but around here it is translated into something along the lines of:

"curiosity blasted the cat into oblivion full of extra dimensions and entities all while simultaneously contemplating life and it's deeper meanings. Senses blended together and reality shattered into a million fragments and yet the cat made it back to Earth safely...and in one piece. Upon return, the message was shared with close friends and Nexians and the cat's mind never saw things the same way again, and the cat decided he wouldn't want it any other way."

So who was that "cat?" Me, of course! Very happy

That being said, DMT is unlike anything else I've ever experienced. I struggle to put it into words but I do love writing up those trip reports. They help me focus my thoughts which leads to a more focused integration. We are all truly blessed to even have access to such a place as this. I look forward to reading your reports and together we can all learn, share and expand! May you find everything you are seeking here!

Have a wonderful day
