Greetings all! I became a member here almost a month ago but as my computer was inacesible to me I had to postpone my introduction letter until now when my cable adaptor was replaced, so please forgive my tardiness
A little about me: I am a creature of nature, I feel nothing more empowering and comforting than the dirt between my toes, the stars above my head, and little to no anthropogenic resources to be seen while I take in the beauty of my surroundings. I feel very emotionally connected with the Earth and have great respect for all it encompasses, including fellow humans and kinfolk.
I am not a total airy-fairy head however, I am not a deep green activist but a freshly graduated environmental scientist who lives for evidence-based, peer-reviewed credible studies and love healthy debates with similar minded intellects who don't take a difference of opinion personally. I am about to begin my honours degree on algae-farming, as my specialty is water management and marine biology.
As for my experience with and understanding of mind-altering substances, I am a huge advocate of LSD, my first psychedelic love if you dont count THC induced couch-potaoing haha. Although I have only been venturing into these magical realms for around 4 years, I feel that my experiences on LSD have opened my mind in ways that can only be felt, not explained. As an artist and intense lover of visual aethetics, naturally, it is the fractals and patterns and glowing somplistic beauty of the world around me (or lack thereof sometimes!) that draws me to psychedelics, moreso than the mental stimulus and psychological mindset. However that is not to say I dont hold the inner, emotional experiences in any less regard, I just light up when something as simple as the shape of leaves blowing in the wind, or the way the bark of a tree can be the most beautiful thing in the world to look at and admire.
I have dabbled in the past with other substances - MDMA, cocaine, speed (illegal as well as having a prescription of ritalin/dextros), N02, mushrooms, even foolishly had a bender on meth just the once. In my experience I am more than happy to just stick with my THC and LSD, with N02 as my LSD sidekick buddy and have only in the past year really started looking into the spirit molecule.
It all started with my fellow hippie kin showing me his leaf pile (im assuming now it was changa) one day, and from there I bought Dr. Strassman's amazing book, which I've read cover to cover multiple times. I then began doing my own research online and discovered this forum and have spent honestly about 6 months reading countless teks, cook threads, FAQs, research articles, and everything inbetween to ensure I had as much knowledge as possible for my own knowledge and understanding of this incredible compound. From there I went out and collected what I identified in my area as Acacia obtusifolia in my area, but my attempt at a STB with it proved unsuccessful. Unsure of whether it was my materials just not giving out or an amature error in my method, I then sourced my own powered ACRB and attempted the ATB tek by Earthwalker on 50g as opposed to 100. Although it seemed to be going great, what I eventually ended up scrapping out and trying to smoke, was horrendously harsh and produced none of the effects I was looking for.
I recently attended a psytrance festival and was given the opportunity by the same friend who introduced me to the acyronym to experience a dose, and although it was far from a breakthrough, I have rekindled my motivation to attempt another batch with my last 50g of ACRB, but this time I would like to make a thread to track my progress and gain insights from more experienced members with issues specific to my own cooking attempts.
I would apologise for the length of this post, but it did say Essay Introduction haha
i look forward to getting to know everyone on here and expanding my knowledge and conciousness!
Ciao!
Edit: I should probably also have added that I have a green thumb and only smoke my own marijuana - currently I have a juvinile indica Northern Light x Big Bud, and a sativa Shaman plant happily on their way to maturity, with a few other really interesting strains awating planting (i only grow what my partner and I can responsibly smoke/cook with) such as Bubba Kush, Swiss Cheese, White Widow and one that has me personally peeing my pants with excitememnt to get into some soil, Zamaldelica a 100% sativa strand with apparently intense psychedelic effects from La Reunion
