Warmest of welcomes, KillaNoodles ! Big grin I dig your prose.

Jungian archetypes are indeed an important part, in my opinion, in trying to make sense of psychedelic hyperspace. They certainly help explain things like religious scriptures and ancient mythology.

Seeing as you are a fan of archetypes, you should check out this here thing, aptly titled "Strange-face illusion". The coolest part of the experiment is that it can be easily replicated at home. Candles work best. Make sure the light source is not directly shining into the mirror.

WAY cooler still if you are on a nice dose of something.

My question for you is: Are the archetypes reflections of the ego, or is ego the reflection of the archetypes? You have read "The Doors of Perception" so I take it you are familiar with the idea of the "collective unconscious".

Maybe the archetypes are "spirits". We certainly don't have any control over them or how they affect us. Maybe our brains are a focal point for archetypes (spirits) to interact with each other and evolve, using us as mindless little meatspace controllers.

Just my take on things.

P.S. I am 98% sure you were my favorite professor of all time.
Once in a while, you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Do you fit in? Like sauce on spaghetti, a jig in a saw, a ripple in a pond...

Glad your here, look forward to hearing more of your perspective, welcome! I think I can speak for a bunch of folks here in saying that we welcome the empirical, the philosophic, the wanderer, those with questions about one thing and answers to another.

Nice thread title by the way- good jobThumbs up

Nice thread title by the way- good job! Heck I'll even vote you up for an intelligent intro. I'm feeling a little magnanimous. Peace to you!

Thanks to both for complimenting my 'essay'!
And to you, Null, I appreciate the vote of confidence. Cool

I do hope everyone would be kind enough to lend a supportive vote, wherever it is that member's Questionnaires go to be judged! (In some inaccessible-to-me quadrant of the nexus intra-web, no doubt. Hopefully not eternal purgatory.)

You have my vote sir.
