I recently made a changa and an enhanced leaf blend and they just finished drying last week.

In my changa blend I first smashed a 10 gram piece of ayahuasca yinti vine from Colombia into a more malleable form with a hammer. After 5-10 minutes of smashing away at the vine, I then took pieces of vine and began twisting them apart into until they were shredded. Once the vine was shredded, I put the bark into a mortar and pestle and smash and ground away the contents until it was in near powder form. I took the remaining product and soaked the shredded/powdered bark mixture for a month in 99% IPA taking care to shake the mixture every day.

After a month of soaking I poured the menstrum on a 2 gram mix of raspberry leaf/calendula,
Added 2 grams of Acacia confusa/mimosa crystals and left this to dry.

I know each one of our experiences are subjective, but I definitely feel this vine variety has a unique signature compared to other varieties I have tried. Most mixes I have smoalked have given me cartoon/fractal like visuals. However in this blend my visions took more of a live action movie type feel. I've only tried this batch once, but I am excited to spend some time exploring the possibilities of this blend over winter break. I would also like to add that it this blend was pretty intense at 100mgs and alomost quit hitting my bubbler after a few hits. I convinced my self to keep going and was rewarded with an intense feeling of euphoria as well as movie-like CEV's. While I wasn't a big fan of the taste of this blend I would give it too thumbs up for its psychoactive effects.

The next blend I made I call Dreamtime 2.0 and is an update to the "before bed mix" I found posted on here a while back.

20 grams of freshly dried calea from my Dream Herb bush
10 grams of Mugwort
5 grams of lemon balm

I soaked this in 99% IPA for a month, and poured the menstrum on another 2 grams of a raspberry leaf/calendula blend

I have not tried this blend yet. But i am hoping this counteracts the burst of energy that I get in the afterglow so I'm not up all night thinking about how awesome my last trip was. It would be nice to take a few hits before bed and seamlessly go from the dmt to the dream state on the come down.

I would love to see a Mod's opinion on this, or another experienced Changa user. This post is extremely relevant to me.
Making my first Changa blend tomorrow. I was thinking of infusing straight onto some Caapi leaf and another complimenting herb, perhaps Blue Lily.
I'm totally going to try the Dreamtime blend with Calea Z and Lemon Balm. I never thought about a "before bed" mix. That's brilliant! I don't have Mugwort though. I'll have to use either Mullein, Passion Flower, Caapi, or Blue Lily. Any recommendation?
Also your Ayahuasca Vine, was that the white vine or different color? I just got white and I was planning on shredding it, and boiling it down for some enhanced leaf. This IPA menstrum seem like a much easier alternative. Is either method more or less effective at extraction or is time the only difference?
I about to try some Calea before bed and see what this stuff is about.

Spirit Seeker,

I would soak the Calea and Lemon balm in IPA and pour it over the mullein. My first few changa batches I made enhanced caapi leaf but I ended up being disapointed in the distribution of alkaloids using this method. Mullein is spongy and best for soaking up menstrum from you plant soaks.

I decided to make a before bed mix as my last batch of changa seemed to have stimulative properties. I prefer to smoalk after all my "chores" are done for the day. However, these days it seems I'm not getting ready for bed until about 2 or 3 in the morning. So I would start a journey at 2 in the morning but I would end up staying awake thinking about how great it was and end up getting afterglow hunger since I fast for 6 hours prior to lift off.

The vine I spoke of in my post is called Yage Yinti, a rare cultivar from Colombia. It definitely has a powerful and unique character that I have yet to experience in my changa blends. I could do a blind test and pick this mix out from the crowd every time. At first I was a little scared of the blend and was hesitant to take more than one hit per sitting, However, as The bard Terrence once said "Nature loves courage." and I feel that I am rewarded with some of the most spectacular 3rd eye visions when I decided to go beyond the first toke. I have not broken through on this blend yet, but I know it will be the experience of a life time.

Either caapi extraction method is fine, time is the only difference. One month vs a couple of hours....

P.S. Calea is great but their are much better dream herbs out there. Calea is just the most efficient one to smoke IMO. I have many other dream herbs that could have potential for a mix but not a lot of time these days to be the lab rat coming up with new combos.

Thanks Hortwizard,
I took your advice and I'm currently soaking 3 jars in 99% IPA.
1st jar is the Calea and Lemongrass. I will infuse this into the Mullein for my "bedtime" blend.
2nd jar is a Blue Lily and Damiana mix. I was thinking of infusing onto some passionflower for a "flower power" blend.
3rd jar is a whole lot of shredded Caapi vine that I will infuse onto some Caapi leaf for a 10x leaf.
They will all soak for a month, giving me a few Changa blends for Christmas.
I greatly appreciate your advice, too bad no one else cares about Changa in the Welcome discussion forums.
Fortunately I was just promoted to full member! YAY! So off I go to the Changa forum.
