Swim has been doing alot of reading of the teks for spice extraction and was wondering is there any difference between the STB teks and the A/B. is there an increase in yeild or it the spice cleaner or something. Swim has been using the STB tek and so far has had some good extracts and a clean spice. any info would be much appriciated.

Swim uses stb because of high yield and quicker extractions. Quality often depends mostly on the skill and care of the extractor. Swim loves Noman's Tek

your going to get many differnt answers to this question,
it depends on what your good with and what you are after.
my friend only likes the clear crystaline spice,
so he does a thourogh a/b,
he get's better yeilds this way compared to a stb cause he always looses to much during the heptane re-x due to heating it up to hot.

Do an a/b they aren't hard at all and you can be sure your end spice won't be full of lye and plant material.

I am also going to attempt this soon. Have performed Noman tek previously, but lately just getting too much yellow/brown product despite 2x carbonate washes and a pure water wash prior to freeze prep. I feel that recrystallising it will result in a terrible loss of yield, not to mention I'm fed up of messing with lye, so this Q21Q21 tek looks very appealing, and so far yield reports are quite positive.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

A/B = Acid/Base extraction.

STB = Straight to base Extraction.

Check out the FAQ and the WIKI for more information. Pretty much everything you would need to know can be found there, friend. Research goes a long way! Thumbs up

STB done slowly, carefully and with love will get you great results. Learn from your process and get better each timeSmile

If you've got, say, 250g of raw material I'd be tempted to start with an extraction of 50g rather than trying the whole lot.

In all of reality there are not two. There is just the one thing. And I am that.

For me personaly i find i get a much larger yeild and cleaner product with an a/b, but i always add a defat. Stb was my original go to but in the long run i found a/b faster and more efficiant over all
