Wut? When using the lazyman's tek is it possible to replace Naphtha with Hexane? To good results?

Even better! 'Naphta' is not well defined.

so hexane would work in the freezer as well?

Yes. My personal favourite is heptane, wonderfully clean and big yields. Naphtha is actually quite non-selective and bad at dissolving/precipitating DMT in comparison, but it's a lot cheaper. If the price don't stop you, then feel free to use heptane/hexane!

Naphtha is a mix of solvents. Different brands have different mixes. both Hexane and Heptane are both in naphtha.

Personally I use heptane for recrystalizations because: A) it is very selective and pulls almost exculsivly spice B) is grows teh most amazing crystals if left for a day or two at room temperature C) it is very expensive and it make sense to me to pull with naphtha (cheap) and recrystalize with heptane (expensive).

Heptane and Hexane are not much different. Hexane is very selective as well and you will get a much purer product even without a recrystalization.

If I might ask, how much are you paying for your hexane and are you getting it from a chem supply house or is it something that can be purchased at a hardware/specialty store?

A better solvent for initial extractions are slightly polar solvents like cloroform, dichloromethane or aromatic like toluene these will pull more alkaloids and less solvent will be required. Hexane and other non-polar solvents are better for recrystalizations as the alkaloids are only slightly soluble in them at room temperature. The aromatic solvents can not be used for recrystalization (or freeze precip) as they are too polar and the alkaloids are thus soluble even at low temperatures but if they are evaporated than a small amount of non-polar organic can be used. Hexane will likely work but it is not the ideal solvent for alkaloids extractions it is typically used in chromatography and recrystalizations and very hydrophobic compounds.

Will heptane grow crystals at room temperature if the spice isn't precipitated first or is it too dilute?

Yes, very easily if you evaporate it. Just remember if it's a direct pull, you will get impurities along with DMT.
