Hey DMT Nexus forum,

Recently joined after using this site as a resource. Some of the posters here really hit a bell with me. I'm looking forward to some of the experiences.

I guess I can call myself a semi experienced psyhconaut. I've tried some 2CI, shrooms, and LSD on multiple occasions. All of the experiences have been positive even though each time i've voomed before the trip got fun.

I got some spice from a friend of mine. Honestly, I wish I didn't read so much about hyperspace before trying. Now that I have the stuff, I'm scared to try it!

After sitting on it and my friend wanting to know how it is, I tried a little bit on top of a bowl of ash. The effects were incredibly overwhelming, unlike anything I have ever tried before. In my haste, I tried this alone which was incredibly foolish. The room immediately got bright, my heart started racing (panic attack), and I noticed a strange square box of light above a mirror in my room where sunlight never seems to hit. Definitely got some visuals.

During the experience, I got this immediate sense of dread. Very similar to the effect I had when I tried salvia. I managed to calm myself down by looking at the clock on my laptop. When it comes to time dilation, I've found that looking at clocks soothes the anxiety for whatever reason.

I eventually came down. A day later, I tried the remaining amount I had again. This time it was less intense, more visuals and very much reminded me of being on psychedelics again. Even more odd was I noticed my peripheral vision blotch as if my visual reality was distorting. Still, I have this feeling of dread about progressing further. I've noticed i've been very tired lately and something within me has melted. I feel definitely more at peace right now.

It probably didn't help that I tried this on Friday the 13th (Paris terrorists attacks). I was around during the Boston Marathon bombing which to say the least this most likely didn't put me in a positive mind space.

Does anyone have any tips for over coming this fear? I've been doing relatively small amounts to ease into it, but I get that this is going to be dive in the deep end sort of thing eventually. Is there anyway to slow the onset? Every psychedelic i've tried had a slow burn, this is super fast.

Welcome beast!

You can calm the pre flight anxiety with meditation, being in the right mindset and proper set and setting. Meditation personally has helped with the jitters, but even after plenty of times doing it, I still get them. Your right though it is extremely fast acting and an odd feeling. If you have or show resistance to its speed and power then the experience just seems to get more uncomfortable. With that being said, when you get to the breakthrough, it's not as uncomfortable as the come up imo and feels oddly familiar. Measuring out proper doses at low mg levels (5-15mg) helps to build up to it and keeps from over doing it. Get relaxed, comfortable lay back and try closing your eyes, I seem to get sort of a dread feeling leaving mine open.

Changa is another way to slow it down a bit and prolong the experience due to the added harmala alkaloids. Personally this is my "go to" for the most part, but still vape freebase from time to time.

Thanks for the introduction, welcome to the community, and always safe and happy journeys friend Thumbs up

Peace

Hello and Welcome!

Even after a few years of smoking DMT, I still get anxious before. One thing that has helped is smoking Changa instead of free base DMT.

Spaced Out 2's advice is excellent:

Hey Beast,

I'm a newby as well, what it's worth on the time dilation part, i did my first DMT breakthrough by accident had a crap pair of scales and think i hit around 150mg anyway the time dilation freaked the fuck out of me and i was convinced afterwards that time had actually slowed/stopped altogether anyway I smoked some DMT last night at much lower doses around 20mg hits with a friend in his flat (who was also a first time smoker last nt) my friend had a music channel playing in the background which gave me a real sense of time and although i had time dilation the music definitely helped to reduce my jitters. I have made a note to experiment with different types of music now until i find the most comforting one (being saturday the music was playing four to the floor thumping house), even though it was the wrong kind kind of music (for me) i still found i could use the music to anchor myself when i felt the onset of the trip come on too intense.

On the dosage side though if i was to recommend DMT to a friend i would say start low dosage at around 10-15mg, this is what i recommended to my friend last night, however i did find it annoying that he then did not want to join me in a breakthrough dosage (i took around 30mg). It's difficult to explain how very different a low dose is compared to a high dose, after my few DMT experiences i personally feel less scared and anxious after i have actually broken through.

I like 'Spaced Out 2's advice about closing your eyes, for me the onset is so bewildering and your vision changes so fast it freaks me out for sure so closing my eyes is definitely advice i'll be taking as well, thanks guys.

Good to chat with a fellow newby beast, have a safe journey Big grin

Yes, changa is my preferred method. 1:.3:1 (1g DMT to .300mg harmalas to 1g herb mix).

Changa for me is just as powerful as freebase, same depth and intensity; slowed down a bit depending on how much harmalas you add. I never added much (250mg-300mg) per 1g of DMT. With this amount of harmalas for me it opens up that initial time window with smoking so you can cram as many hits as need be to GET there, without being too heavy on the harmala front. Just a bit of harmalas to add a tinge of effect and open up the potentiality of breaking through (without having to worry about a narrower initial timeframe for the hits), but nothing to where the experience is entirely colored by them.

Although with changa, if you get the entire dose in one hit, it tends to skip past any of the harmala effects and ramps up full bore in just a few seconds (5-6), then its by-by.

With changa also, you can take a small hit every 30-40 seconds until you're there. Like slowly dipping into a pool aside from just jumping in head first. Even at this slow pace you will still get the same end result.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

Welcome to the Nexus!

Just wanted to throw in one more vote for changa! It is a beautiful combination of substances and works very well! Harmalas in general have a soothing effect, sometimes I smoke them on their own too.

Have a nice day!

I'll have to check out changa thanks for the tips gents.

In the meantime, i'm most likely just going to drink a cup of green tea (mild maoi) and hit some DMT to see what happens. Maybe just drop some into the tea itself and drink it. See what happens Cool

I guess my final question is, what is it like in hyperspace? Do you have physical control over your body? Can you walk around in hyperspace? If I decide to move around in hyperspace does my body in the real world react or is it like a dream?

My biggest fear is trying to walk or "float" through hyperspace and somehow find myself outside on my balcony when I come to. From what I've gathered, a breakthrough is a 100% immersive experience.

I'm going to get a sitter of course for the first serious try, but i'm curious what others have experienced.

I hope these questions aren't too odd. Of all of my previous psychedelic experiences, I knew what I was seeing was in my own mind so I wasn't too afraid and the closed eye visuals while meditating helped me explore some weird "universe" of color.

Definitely psyching myself out probably for no reason. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Edit: I should add, i'm probably going to wait until I get my trusted psychonaut from the states here in the UK with me.
