Hi I am looking to clean some waxy jim jam that was pulled with xylene. I know of the FASA method but was wondering if a simple acetone or IPA wash would be sufficient in cleaning all traces of the remaining xylene?

I know putting a little bit of acetone on and dissolving helps dissolve excess xylene from what I have read on here in the past. You can also pour acetone on water residue to make water evap faster, something to do with hydrocarbons mixing or something but if you are really pedantic and want to be safe then FASA is a surefire way. Just try a little acetone on the xylene residue and dissolve it, try to get a lot of surface area possible. if that fails try fasa

Thanks for the input. I did an acetone wash and it seems to be fine now. But I'll post back when I actually try it.

hi there!
It's possible to dissolve that jimjam in some dry fasa to salt out the fumarates in acetone?
Thanks previously
