Has any body here with DMT experience had ground breaking questions answered by entities while in hyperspace? I.E. origins of life on Earth, life elsewhere in the universe, the meaning of life, the existence of god, the spirit realm, anything like that really, just questions science doesn't have answers to.

I got only one of the things on your list - confirmation that spirit entities are unexplainably real....

Are DMT trips like dreams? I was watching something before which said that you lose memory of your trip starting immediately after it, would it be possible to record your experiences and or discoveries in a journal or would you be to inhibited by the drug?

Was it this picture:

If you want to recall what happened better you can use a tape recorder. Or if you are loaded, you can buy an fMRI machine and fund scientists to study what you experience.

I don't doubt there are a lot of users that have received some of the insights you are curious about, especially those insights that pertain to the specific context of their own experience and lives.
Personally, I haven't encountered much insight with my very limited use but I am keeping as open a mind as I can muster with the whole thing.

I suppose that is why philosophy isn't completely dead yet. Wait, that might not be true judging by the fact that philosophy section is at the bottom of the nexus forum and is one of the slowest moving areas on here. lol.

Yes.
I got answers to all of those questions, and I didn't ask any of them.Wut?

However, I tenaciously hold on to the last shred of dignity I have in respect to pretending to have more than a tenuous grasp on sanity, so I will refrain to elaborate on any of them right now.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

In a sense, yes, DMT can be like a dream. I think one of the reasons why it can be hard to remember is because everything you see in the DMT realm is so vastly strange and different from anything else imaginable that once it is done, the brain scrambles around to try and make sense of everything. Not to mention, if one goes with a smoked/vaped route then the duration is quite short in comparison to the time you have to navigate the space in say, an oral route or with other psychedelics.

A true DMT breakthrough is like being transported into a completely different/alternate reality. The one we are all currently in now ceases to exist (more accurately, you lose awareness of this reality) during those powerful experiences.

It would probably be impossible to write anything down or to speak into a tape recorder while in the midst of a breakthrough. However, I like to have a pad and pen ready to go so that as soon as I come back I can start writing everything down as rapidly as I can. The experience does fade pretty quickly IME so jotting thoughts down while it is fresh has worked best for me. If no one remembered their experiences on DMT, I don't think we would or could have whole sub forums dedicated to experience reports...Very happy

But back to the OP:

Entities (the very few I've met) haven't necessarily answered any direct questions for me but they definitely left me with 1000 more questions, if that helps...Big grin

But answers help you find better questions Very happy

On the topic of remembering trips, I think state/context-dependent learning plays a big role in making intense altered mind state experiences so hard to remember. The recall of anything you learn is highly dependent on the "mind-state" you are currently in, "mind-state" in this case referring to chemicals present in the nervous system, the state of consciousness, and the phenomenology being perceived. For example if you learned about a topic in a specific room there is actually enhanced recall of that information when you are in the same location. The same thing goes for what you were feeling like, thinking about, looking at, listening to, or any any other feature of your mental world at that moment, particularly what your attention was focused on. Any psychedelic drug effects the nervous system chemically, they are chemicals after all, and the perceived environment and state of consciousness go through serious changes as well.

The phenomenology of a DMT trip or any other psychedelic trip is very far removed from what is experienced on an everyday basis. As the situation you are currently in becomes further removed from the situation you were in during the experience there are fewer and fewer sources of "stimulation", like a similar environment, that could trigger the nervous network in which the memory you are attempting to retrieve is "stored". It is required that a part of that experience be "re-experienced" in a sense for the pathway to be activated and the memory to surface, but the types of phenomena found, including thoughts thought, during a psychedelic state are not found in everyday life. Like The Grateful One said the moment right after an experience is the best time to attempt any recall. In fact staying in the same room, and if it was something like DMT staying in the same position with your eyes closed, and running over the experience in your mind is your best shot at trying to retain any memories of the experience you had. This reinforces the memories and kind of "converts" them into something you can relate to in your normal mind-state. Any notes you take can help trigger the memory later when you read them, even if all you can remember is what you were thinking about while writing the notes its better than nothing. Also its useful to keep in mind that as you remember anything you are also editing that memory with any feelings or thoughts you "project" onto it when thinking about it. Each time that nervous network is activated new pathways are added to it and existing ones are altered, so memories can be distorted easily, especially if the memory is vague to begin with and/or triggers a strong emotional response. This includes when you remember something right after the experience so try to be as objective as possible when running over the experience in your mind, it is very easy to interpret things "into" a memory even if it is fresh.

Can you elaborate more on this please null? How has smoking DMT melted away a tenacious grasp on sanity for you? Are you liable to go psychotic do you think? In what way, shape, form, feeling etc.?

To me, there are two sorts of answers I can get from those experiences:

- answers I can understand with my discursive mind, often after a session of meditation ( focused on a particular problem I want to try to solve) followed by a modest dose of vaped spice. This a method that, personnaly, I find usefull to seek answers, in a sort of psycholytic use

- "answers" given by entities, at stronger doses or under the effect of others psychedelics with long lasting effects. Those experiences bring more questions to me, because of their more metaphorical way to manifest. And so, answers may come later, by integrating feelings, emotions generated by these "encounters", by thinking of their possible meaning.

But I never met an entity who told me where my keys were lost... Big grin
