I was referring to the ego. If you ask any psychiatrist he will give you a definition of a normal state of mind called that most occupy, so yes in that sense it most definately does exist otherwise we would not employ psychiatrists in society.
I also was referring to the type of consciousness found in the west in modern times, the kind that is dependant on capitalism to flourish (you know what I am getting at

I don't want to get in to this though as if you are the kind of person who hasn't already noticed this incredibly obvious trait in scoiety, in my experience any conversation precludes the possibility of it going anywhere. There is a saying "a man convinced against his will is a man of the same opinion still" and my experiences in conversing with people who aren't aware of the obvious current state of mind shared by majority of the human population... tends to lean towards difficulty in cuumminication because of the truth in that quote.
