Yeah maybe that's an exageration. I think I was refering more to the fact that when using pure spice I can't get myself into the experience as much as I'd like and feel like more of a spectator than a visionary.

I'm all about enhanced caapi these days.

Seems there are some differing opinions on this subject!!
My only experience so far has been with J-Spice Changa... and I've been able to go deep a few times, when I have the courage to do enough of a hit and I'm in the right mindset before blast-off. I am curious to try a purification to get some white crystals, just to see the difference in the experience. WarrenSaged posted a tek to get pure spice from the J-Spice fumerate a few weeks back..

Its funny. Sometimes the insight is IN YOUR FACE and other times it trickles in afterwards. Swim has been helped immeasurably by this substance. Hyperspeed learning of what is TRULY important in this world since he started.

There are, but yellow is NOT JUNGLE SPICE. Jungle Spice has not been 100% identified, but many believe it is an MAOI either created during the extraction or pulled from the MHRB using Xylene or Toluene. Naphtha will not pull jungle spice.

The yellow could be some DMT N-oxide that formed after extraction + some plant oils...or it could be something else entirely. We're not 100% sure. Most people do notice that the yellow spice is a little calmer than pure white.

Personally, I like the both for what they are. I've had pretty intense voyages with yellow as well...so don't believe that yellow spice can't be crazy intense.

I don't know SWIM and personally don't trust him at all. If SWIM is posting, most likely I will not respond...as I said, I don't trust the guy. YOU I trust, but never SWIM.

Taken orally, DMT-n-oxide is a little more visual and has lesser psychologic and body-high effects. That's the difference i noticed.
A/B extracted yellow stuff is just weaker and is probably DMT with some useless other compounds.
Jungle spice is supposed to be a beta-carboline or a mix of beta-carboline's that are active on their own and might have a DMT-amplfying effect on the side.
I have no experience with smoked jungle spice. People say it's quite spectacular, but i don't want to work with the toxic chemicals needed for extracting it.

yeah - swims been trying to figure out his preference with spice for a while and has just made some n-oxide with jungle to test.
spice that swim loved was mixed with some acetone - then 40% h2o2 was added - its evapped to a nice yellow thick goo - now just to test it.
the n-oxide seems to make the exp more relaxed -
i think most yellow spice is just nn and oxide - if naptha was used - no jungle for sure.

If white, glassy shards are what you want, they're not so hard to come by with just a bit of extra effort (or so I am told by my imaginary octopus friend, Senor Tentacles):

1) Using ascorbic acid instead of vinegar for the boils will pull just as much of what you want and less of what you don't.
2) Two or three good defats with xylene and/or naptha prior to basifying will help tremendously - you will see the fats and oils bubble up into the solvent immediately with xylene.
3) A quick carbon wash of your naptha pulls is supposedly very effective in removing any yellow tint (although SWIM has never actually tried this, nor has Senor Tentacles).
4) Freeze precip instead of evap will minimize oxidation.
5) One good re-x afterwards and you can separate most of the remaining oils and oxide (which you can always keep if you want, or throw back into the basified solution, zinc and then pull again).
6) Drying your yield without the aid of a fan should also be helpful in reducing oxidation.

You can always do some final xylene or limonene pulls for the jungle stuff. Nobody says you can't mix and match to find your own personal brand of mojo, but if you're trying to figure out your preference, wouldn't you like to actually have as close to a pure and unadulterated product as possible with which to begin your comparison?

Question for the peanut gallery:

Does anyone zinc up the acidified brew prior to basification, as a part of their usual tek? If so, how much, and is it helpful in any material way?

Thanks for that, Art. I really want to try a carbon wash, as it looks pretty easy to do. I just need look around for some activated carbon. I am not too sure where to find it... pet stores?

What's the difference between using activated carbon and sodium carbonate?

Sodium carbonate is a sodium salt made from normal table salt and can be used as a base for certain things (not for extracting DMT). Activated carbon is a carbon usually made from coal (but can be made from wood as well i think).
