Some believe that DMT, and other entheogens have a very powerful mission with humanity. Of course they allow us to explore the infinite self, the infinite universe, whatever profound experience you may have. I think we can all agree that it opens the mind.
If we know that DMT exists in nature, not only in the human body but in plants and even animals, then clearly we aren't the only living things to which this chemical is significant. If it is true that plants and animals existed long before humans, then what was DMT's original purpose? What mission did it have before humans became aware of it?
I am just getting my feet wet, and have yet to completely breakthrough. I'm curious to hear ideas from the Nexus.

I am no one in particular

What exists exists for purposes or explanations far beyond our capabilities to understand.

Is DMT a failsafe mechanism 'built in' to earth's design in case of tyrannical governments trying to direct, divert or control peoples minds? Maybe.

Is DMT part of a galactic phenomenon that is ubiquitous throughout the genetic makeup of all biological life in the universe and other lifeforms use it for the chemical precursers of thought like how we use serotonin or dopamine to create our thoughts? Maybe.

Is DMT a way for human beings to travel interdimensionaly but haven't the cognitive development yet to figure out how to properly interact with it and harness it's potential? Maybe.

Is DMT an absolute mere coincidence that just happens to occur when planetary systems undergo a sufficient level of chemical complexity that allows for certain molecules to interact with certain more complex molecules... sort of like how a hurricane sweeps over a scrapyard and assembles a completely operational boeing 737 airoplane in it's wake? Maybe

We can only speculate here, but is it worth specualiting at all?

I like to think that the DMT molecule along with all other molecules are connected to higher dimensional realms or at least objects in those supposed planes of existence.

I took this idea from IBM computer scientist Clifford A. Pickover who wrote a book called "Sex, Drugs, Einstein, and Elves" and discusses DMT among other things.

He explains in another one of his books how if you saw 4 random balls floating in the air, to you it would look like 4 random balls floating in the air but in actuality it would be parts of the body of a higherdimensional entity that intersects in to our dimensions at that place. If you don't understand then search youtube for "carl sagan 4th dimension"

This intersection is what forms all the molecules in existence and even sounds similar to how physicist are telling us that matter is actually fields intersecting and it is the intersection that creates what we percieve as physical matter. That sounds comprehendable but actually imagining it vividly is something I always hope to achieve possibly with DMT.

To answer your question though, All we can know is the experience it gives us... infering towards more than a presumptuous guestimate would be akin to believing in God.

Why do plants and animals have DMT anyway?
Why does DMT exist in nature?
