It seems my DMT has clumped together to form 4 or 5 pieces instead of pure crystalline powder as I had originally stored it in a bag, in an airtight prescription bottle followed with aluminum foil on the outsides.
What might cause this to happen and is this normal ?

Possibly moisture, or maybe a tiny bit or waxy plant material

Warmth? The waxy crystals are quite sticky. Hopefully not exacerbated by plasticizers from the bag... “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work." ― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli

I hope its either one of those. I'm starting to be suspicious of my roommate - cause i just dont see how in a bag in a prescription bottle lid wrapped foil could introduce any moisture. There are still smokeable and honestly its easier to grab now...thanks for the replies

Happens every batch I extract. It starts as light and fluffy and after rolling the bag up and putting it in its light proof zip pouch its starts to collapse and clump a but. The extreme end of that is it starts to stick to the bag sometimes in little smears that are usually unrecoverable (not too much though). Temperature is also a big factor a warm day and I don't even have to touch it for it to collapse a bit. Refrigerator or freezer would be a good storage place during warmer months though I don't bother.
The reason you should always weigh out your hit. It starts out when fluffy and I am like no way that looks like way too much! Verses the other end after its compacted quite a bit and I think is my scale off? cause that looks like nothing.
Unlike the eye the scale does not lie.

I'd recommend keeping your spice in a glass container of some sort rather than plastic pill bottles or baggies. You can find little vials online or small glass containers about the size of a pill bottle. With this method, you will never lose any spice. Anything that sticks to the glass can be recovered with [insert solvent here] ... I typically go with 99.9 IPA to recover spice from containers as it evaporates very quickly and isn't too expensive or watched too closely by the government AFAIK. These are just suggestions though, by all means please do whatever you feel is best for you. Best of luck to all and have a good day! New to The Nexus? I have been keeping an eye out for a suitable glass container. I was hoping to run across some cool cobalt glass vial with a ground glass stopper at a junk store or flea market but no luck. I guess i should just order online.
Also I use methanol to clean up residue out of my GVG as it dries supper fast! I was fortunate enough to get several liters of USP grade about a year ago.
