I've been using a BIC lighter with ~70mg spice loaded in ash in the GVG, and it takes me about 5-6 hits to clear most of it. I clearly need something hotter.

Is a heat gun or torch lighter better for clearing big hits in the GVG? I'd like to be able to get the 70mg in one hit.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Torch lighter works just fine, but why do you need 70mg dose Shocked , 25-40mg will get you there if vaporized properly. Just curious

As they said above, a torch lighter works MUCH better.
The arc turboflame is what alot of people here use but other torch style lighters work too as long as they dont crap out when held upsidedown.

DO NOT load a 70mg dose & use a torch lighter. Start small & get your method down.
70mg propperly vaporized may very well be so intense you never touch spice again.

I'm glad that ceramic filter was in the way stopping you from blasting 70mg all at once. Zoinks! If you have no luck with this method a small soft flame type lighter with the spice on screen or stainless steel scrubber works very well if you remove the filter.

Okay, so i read most of the ligher+gvg-related threads on the nexus, and have a question

Since i don't have a chance to get the all-praised arc turboflame, i found only these two models available in my area

Jet Micro Torch BS-200

Jet Micro Torch BS-200

Jet Torch 1300˚ C

Both of them are piezo-ignited, with adjustable flame.

Do you think they would do the work? I understand they might be (and very likely are) of lower quality, but was interested if anyone has had experience with setting up similar of different torch lighter for hyperspacing Confused

they will probably be fine.

just make sure they turn off automatically, ive seen some that look like those that require turning off manually, for safety you want a torch that turns off at the release of the ignition button/switch.

From my experience, any cigar-type jet lighter will do the job. You just need something hotter than a lighter and a torch definitely gets the job done. Keep in mind you don't need anything very big. The ones in the links look fine. The advice above should be taken very seriously, you don't wanna set your house on fire!

As for the Dremel heat gun, I have an Embur which seems very similar. It appeared these are both glorified soldering irons. The embur does not get hot enough to vaporize any substances I have tried unless you touch the red-hot tip directly to the material. (The temperature of the tip is clearly hot enough but the heat it emits is not) However, I am assuming this would also burn a good amount of extract. Because of this I do not use it for this sort of thing but it could potentially work.

Would love to hear more about butane-less lighters though. I love my Embur for smoking other things and think a cleaner hit could be smoother, healthier and possibly tastier.

Arc turboflame is def the best lighter to use. have tried many others, works great when held downwards. I live in UK and they sell now on ebay for £22.00 inc postage. Just search turboflame in ebay
