hey fellow astral travelers.

I know this isn't the right area to post, but non-full members are restricted and limited in this regard, as you might know.

Anyways, I have been using "the machine" (TM) as of late and had for the 1st time an absolute horrendous experience.

I had used a copper scrubby thingy as a xtal bed, which I fired "through" with a butane torch to get rid of impurities and other stuff, as recommended here on the nexus by some. then I sprinkled 50mg of star dust on it, melted it in, waited couple minutes before smoking.

I took one deep long breath and held it at least 20 seconds. I exhaled and was able to take another big hit. It tasted super metallic, and I felt something hit my mouth. Kind of like tiny little pieces. The trip was very strong, as I hoped to , but I got overwhelmed with this metallic taste in my mouth/and body, and tried to get rid of these little pieces that I must have sucked in. Even though, I was blasted away, I had some sense of self.

I felt as if I had been poisoned (cooper/metal/other shit that might be with the copper). I was freaking out in my mind and body quite a bit. I actually felt that this is the end. I was seriously concerned about not making it through this experience. And trust me, I have had plenty "death/dying/letting go" experiences in 14+ years of drinking Ayahuasca.

I drew all strength and wisdom I have from getting through challenging journeys, in order to not completely freak out. I also had a sitter with me as a companion, but I wasn't able to communicate anything. 911 came to mind, and if I would've been able to make a call or communicate this to my friend, I would have done so.

Also to mention, I have smoked this batch of crystals many times before, so i can be almost certain that something has gone wrong.

My theory is that I might have overheated the copper in the initial cleaning and have smoked with it too many times before changing it. In addition, little pieces must have found their way into my mouth. Super uncomfortable to say the least.

As you can imagine, me writing this post now, I made it through. Although this experience has left me with a bad taste (literally, hehe) in my mouth and whole body. When I saw my friend trying to prepare his dosage, I immediately told him to stop and explained why.

I wanted to share this to see if any of you have had similiar experiences with this setup, or any thoughts to share.

I will never smoke the machine again. period.

Meanwhile, I have ordered a GVG, which is sitting on my table now to be loaded, with a bed of mullein and maybe 35mg as a start. I am looking forward to this, and hope I will never again experience anything close to feeling again.

I had an experience pretty close to this with a friend a year or two ago smoking yellow oil from a. Confusa the same way. Actually both me & my friend had experiences very similar simeltaneously. I have not used the machine since & have had much Bette experiences with copper mesh in the GVG & a water bong. Both seem to leave that metallic taste for me though as well regardless of how careful I am with the flame. Needless to say, i use copper mesh sometimes when no harmalas are around to make Changa with but really dislike using it anymore.

Vapor genie released liquid pads recently & some have even opted to buy anything extra ceramic disk to melt the DMT into. Either way is better than copper mesh considering the disks are made to smoke/vape with.
