Hello all,

After a day of programming the Enigmaticus made it's first small steps. These first steps are all about testing image manipulation and performance.

You can see for yourself how the first steps looks like at:
http://enigmaticus.dmt-nexus.me/

When you go to that page there will probably a short message about loading a plugin. This is the Silverlight 2 plugin and it's a trusted plugin from Micro$oft. On the current Enigmaticus page you can change image variables and pres launch to test them.

Please let us know what you think about it and of course tell us you ideas that popup.

Kind regards,

The Traveler

Do you know if this works for Mac?, Swims having some issues.

Silverlight should work on the Mac. I never tried it though.

I pm'd Tryptographer to start exchanging ideas about the visual aspect.

One of the things we talked about was the alien spaceship interface you guys talked about, and the possibility of a 3d polygon projecting screen wrapped around the point of view to project 2d images onto, maybe several translucent ones encapsulating each other to overlap images.

I can totally see this first step embedded into an idea like that
"I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong."
and
"Sanity calms, but madness is more interesting."

So is the idea to eventually have a constantly changing visual/sound pattern that incorporates all (or some) of these pics & sound ideas/files? I like the effect of the logo swirling in & out of itself there!!

Will there then be some kind of loop of these patterns that starts over if you watch it long enough?
Or will there be a number of different patterns that happen, or can be chosen?

I think it would be cool as hell if it was randomized much like the real thing!! So you have no idea which paterns you'll be experiencing this time!!

Im using ubuntu and firefox, and I apparently installed it.. if I visit this page:
http://go-mono.com/moonlight/

it says "congratulations, you are running the current release of moonlight"

but if I click the enigmaticus link it still comes up saying I need the plugin.

I already restarted firefox.. what can I do? Sad

Try this one. For this you need a plugin supporting Silverlight 2.

Can you try this again? The check for the right version was probably too strict.

I've got it working just fine.

Maybe I miss the concept here, but I've got 150 DMT Nexus banners floating around my screen....?

I guess I was under to assumption that was just a tester, and it will eventually be a morphing 3D picture...right?

Works like a charm here, "Hello World"!
Interesting, this Silverlight - I never heard of it. Seems like a nice toolkit.

I tried the link you gave.. now it enters the enigmaticus page without any error message, but it stays blank... What do you mean with 'I need a plugin'.. you mean appart from the link you just gave me, I need something else?

edit: after installing the moonlight preview, I entered the enigmaticus, and in the blank screen I right clicked the screen, there was a 'codec' option or something of the sort.. it asked if I wanted to install the codecs necessary for seeing the page. I said yes, it seemed to install fine.. I restarted, but still no image in enigmaticus.

hmm...dont know what to tell you...try a different browser perhaps...

anyway..this is just the very beginning steps of the enigmaticus...traveler has been nice enough to program the beginning platform and that is what you see so far...there is much work left to be done...but one step at a time...this could revolutionize the way we write, interpret, and interact with our hyperspace experiences...so there is going to be much work to get it to where its going to be
it's a sound

I think that on this moment Linux isn't fully supporting Silverlight, this leaves us with a Mac or a Windows machine. I'm sorry about that.

And what Jorkest said is true, these are the first testing steps of The Enigmaticus. It's for testing different effects, performance and getting familiar with the programming environment.

In the mean time The Enigmaticus has been updated to include a new effect.
Check it out here: http://enigmaticus.dmt-nexus.me/

Kind regards,

The Traveler
