My first extraction is done. I followed Noman ’s DMT for the Masses.
Using pre powered MHRB the details are:
50 gram MRHB
50 gram lye
1.200 ml water
75 ml naphtha each pull
Due to the width of my vessel it was not possible to separate the solvent from the mimosa/water/lye without taking some of that too. The separated liquid was transferred to a thin glas container. After about 20 minutes waiting I extracted the solvent again. This time with a better result. I did this three times and the jars were put in the freezer.
Last pull the naphtha was left for many more hours in the vessel, regularly and gently moving the liquid. After separation via the thin glas container the solvent was left in an open jar to partly evaporate. This to see the difference in freeze precipitation.
When I did my evaporation test with the naphtha it soon vanished from the dish. But it took an amazingly long time to loose some of it from the solvent. After more than ten hours waiting I could hardly see a difference. Very strange indeed. How is this possible?
Anyway, I put this jar in the freezer too.
More than 24 hours later the freezer was opened to take a first look. I was stunned to see that all three first jars contained white snowflake substances, floating on the bottom or stuck to the sides. What an exciting moment.
Did I do a good job because the sediment is white and does not look yellow at all? Or will the sediment get yellow when drying?
Running out of time I will have to wait for this dry process a couple of days. No problem as the last jar liquid still has to freeze.
I would be glad to hear from you relating my questions. Thanks in advance.
