All purple/red/brown DMT contains whatever basic chemical you used. (lye?) Options

This is driving me nuts...

Is this a safe assumption? Every tek and method I've been exposed to pulls with a non-polar solution, from a basified aqueous solution containing MHRB. Assuming the bark was decanted well, there would not be a lot of "free floating" plant material.

Long story short, I am convinced that the only way plant material can enter the crystal, is if it is pulled into the non-polar, from the basified solution. If the solution was basified with lye, then any purple/red/brown would also be lye...

I think noobies all need to wash their crystal and never smoalk red/brown DMT... Especially if they are "cheating" and getting it from the secondary market. Is this a correct outlook? Thank you!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

No...sorry, it's not.
Tiny impurities come in all shades and if you use a non polar solvent...you won't have lye in your crystals if you separate properly.
Please do not PM tek related questions

Thank you for the replies/link! I should have searched better. The FAQ is confirming my suspicions RE: brown DMT.

Looks like red is alkaloids (though what is the color masking?). So purple could be a mixture of the two?

I still think bicarb washes should be highly recommended (however close to mandatory as possible) to all new extractors... Any kitchen chemist is going to kick up trace amounts of soup during separation. The question is how much.

The question is how much? You answered yourself in the sentence before it: trace amounts. Meaning you might be able to find a trace of it but not nearly enough to cause yourself any harm. Just let your NPS seperate extra long if you are worried about it.

You're right. I guess I am being a bit 'noid, lol

Thanks you guys!

I read a post on shroomery about an impatient extractor sampling his brown/purple DMT, so I was determined to get to the bottom of it, quick. I should have relaxed and did more research, but I am very grateful for your guy's generous time and attention. I will convey to them what I've learned here!

Of course there is a chance base soup made it into this brown/purple dmt because of a careless extraction but I think that there is a greater chance that they pulled with a low quality/non-selective solvent. I've come up with brown spice before after using Klean Strip Naphtha. It contains xylene and aromatic hydrocarbons that will pull more than spice, leading to an apparent impurity.

It does??? Huh, I've only used klean strip to obtain some beautiful, white snow flakes... I usually wash and freeze precipitate though. *shrugs*

Lol, so many possibilities in this burgeoning niche, I love it!
