This is my second peruvian torch extraction, and I have a question about the salting phase. On my last extraction when hcl water was added to xylene and mixed, the hcl water turned white ..however this time the water stayed very clear, there was no color change. I was a bit worried but continued on via freezing my salting jar and decanting my xylene. To my surprise the first pull yielded roughly 1.5 g's of an off white powder, looks very similar to freeze precipitated spice after being chopped up. fresh water was added to xylene and seperated before being placed back in extraction vessel, this water clouded and turned very white, its currently in freezer as im going to try and see what it holds once xylene is removed..Has anyone here had there acid water stay clear? I tasted the powder that I ended up with , tastes bitter , there is not a hint of salt to it. Also on my first extraction my end product (that was very potent) had a slight smell to it but was more of a light brown in color, this off white powder i have now has no smell , if mescaline salts are cleaner/ of higher purity is there less of a smell? Any input is greatly appreciated.
