I bought this cactus which I think is a lophophore W caespitosa (correct me if I'm wrong) some week ago and I
can see that it's a bit yellow and cracked here and there.
It's also quite pale

Mites?
Can anyone identify the problem?

Yes, mites. Spray the crown (not the soil) with ethanol or propanol. Also repot the Lopho from an organic soil mix to a mineral soil mix in a bigger pot.

Ok, thanks!
I have started to spray it yesterday so hopefully it will heal in some weeks.
Isn't it to late in the season to start repotting?

Nah, I don't think so. You probably keep them indoor at 21°C, so I don't see any problem with repotting them now. It's a little late for fertilizing, but then fall/winter/spring is a long time, so I'd suggest at least fertilizing them with a mild solution.
