Hello Everyone! My name is Hortwizard. I’ve been lurking around these forums for about 3 years now. The knowledge that has been dropped on this forum has been second to none and I figure now is a good time to start giving back to the community.
A little about myself…. I started smoking cannabis at the age of 14 and instantly fell in love with it. At the age of 16 I had my first LSD experience which began my lifelong fascination with all things psychedelic. My first attempt at college, I had many more psychedelic experiences but nothing incredible or life changing.
I joined the USAF at the age of 23 and put the drug use on pause for over 6 years. During this time went on 4 tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. I left the military at the age of 29 beat up and frustrated with the fact that I had just wasted 6 years of my life supporting pointless unjust wars.
I came home and started going to school at the local community college, one day I was sitting waiting for my botany class to start, and my lab partner asks me, “Have you ever heard about DMT?” I told him about my past psychedelic use and that I was definitely interested about learning more. A couple weeks later we were grinding through our first extraction of Acacia Confusa Rootbark and the rest is history.
Today I am just about to start my final year studying sustainable and organic horticulture with a minor in sustainable agriculture and food systems at a major university. My specialty is high density tree fruit production (think Sea of Green but with fruit trees in an orchard) I have access to one of the most incredible libraries in the world with over 100,000 books on the study of different plants and fungi. If you have any questions about plants don’t hesitate to ask! I can’t wait to join in all the fascinating conversations taken place here at the Nexus!

Thanks for reading,

Hortwizard

Nice to meet you, Hortiwizard! Welcome to the Nexus.

Since you're a plant person, it seems, can I recommend Share the Seeds? It's a forum for sharing ethnobotanical (and ornamental) seeds and cuttings, collecting growing knowledge, and a nice little place for plant people to connect with one another.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

Thanks!

Continuum, I will check out Share the Seeds as soon as I am finished with the questionnaire! I have many interesting specimens in my collection and it will give me a chance to keep my propagation skillz up to date. Smile
