I smoked DMT once two years ago and broke through (70mg via the sandwich method). This was conducted alone. While the experience alleviated my fear of death, it scared the living daylights out of me.

I've been invited to a DMT ceremony (not Aya) that will occur in 4 months and I'm already getting pre-flight jitters.

I have great respect for the molecule, I do not do this for recreational purposes. My intention is to ask the medicine to help me heal because I'm super-stuck and need help in my own personal evolution.

What can I do in the next four months to prepare myself for Journey #2? I must do this.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

An idea could be doing benzos before ingesting the Aya. Especially a benzo that eases anxiety like Diazepam. There seem to be no serious interactions between MAOIs and benzos according to this source:

The idea isn't even new:

Edit: Ah, okay NOT Aya! (too early here)

Search the Nexus for Propranolol. Propranolol might be even easier to obtain (stage fright) - it's not addictive and harmless in low doses. But never mix Propranolol & Aya (MAOI), the result will be a hypertensive crisis.

Quote:
Propranolol is used by musicians, actors, and public speakers for its ability to treat anxiety symptoms activated by the sympathetic nervous system.[48]

Another idea: inhale low doses, 70mg seems to be way over the top.

Meditate loads. Where is the anxiety on ur body? Is it in the chest? Develop love and forgiveness. Think of ur chakras and adjust accordingly. Google can help.

@Ufostrahlen thank you for the suggestion. I've never heard of Propranolol before.

@Infectedstyle, how does one adjust chakras?

Yes, I can really understand your pre-flight jitters. A few weeks ago I put a post on here entitled Sheer Terror before Vaping DMT. I got some very good answers in case you want to check them out.

I don't know if you have access to any spice before this planned ceremony but one thing I've really found helpful is vaping fairly small amounts on a regular basis just to get you used to the take-off part at least. I usually prepare beforehand with a bit of yoga then meditation/purpose setting, vape around 10 or 15 mg and then follow it up with an hour's meditation in the afterglow of the experience. I find that hour post-vape can actually be amazingly profound; if you choose you can simply remain in the silence that the spice has created and practically lose any sense of self. It gives you a real longing to go through the full blown experience.
In all of reality there are not two. There is just the one thing. And I am that.

Don't think that you're smoking DMT, that scary stuff, intense... Those are just distractions.
Take a hit without analyzing.
Only observe whats going on, without trying to control it.

Our thoughts create the fear, so it's obvious what to do. Do not think about it.
No matter what you've done, you deserve respect. Even if you make mistakes, you're lovable.
And it doesn’t matter - your looks, skills, age, your size, or anything.

You’re worthwhile. No one can ever take that away from you.

Adjust chakras, what kind of advice is that?
Dude...
Nobody has seen such thing as a chakra, so how would you already know it exists, and how to adjust it?

Proper alignment can alleviate lots of stress. Thus, chakras. Haha.

I would recommend you get some Harmaline for your next experience. It's sedating and that can be nice when you're going to scare the daylights out of yourself. I personally like to start off with a changa joint and then once I'm enjoying my Aya buzz I reach for the pure spice.

I've heard it slows down the experience as well but that certainly wasn't the case with my first blast with it. On the other hand my last experience was super slow and meditative.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

*Going off topic for a second*

Nobody can see air, but they can see/feel its effects and breathe it in. Does it not exist?

I've never seen you before. Do you exist?

There are thousands of deep sea animals that no human has ever seen. Do they exist?

Sometimes it is the non-tangible things in life that are the most important. Chakras are basically energy focal points used in meditation and learning to align them can bring peace and contentment. They may not be physical things (as in, if we cut ourselves open, chakras wouldn't fall out) but they are definitely a spiritual and meditative thing for those who utilize them.

To a so called "normal" human, who has never touched DMT, Hyperspace does not exist either but for all of us who have experienced its power...it is the most real thing imaginable for the duration of the trip. What you believe afterwards is up to you. One does not have to integrate such experiences but it is wise to try...

*Back On Topic*

As I stated in another thread, try to go into it with a blank mind. Have no expectations. I realize that is difficult to do, especially after already experiencing DMT before. Whatever happens is going to happen. You essentially have two options after you breathe out the last hit:

!. You can embrace it and let go.

or

2. You can fight it and probably lose the battle.

I always try to go with #1 but sometimes I feel myself going towards #2 unintentionally. Just relax and try to enjoy it. You'll come back in a few minutes so maybe that can be your silver lining. I also recommend the utilization of harmalas, as FLeP mentioned.

Good luck

Smile

It's really more tricky than this 2 options for me...

1. Let go, surrender

2. No fight, but "Stand Up", make a step, make the primordial Choice of light. It happened many times, my trip have no shape, is just crushing me in a psychedelic agony, it's.... horrible : It's a Test, it's my challenge, it's the moment to say : I m the Creator of my own mind, I M , I EXSIT, i have individuality SO i m an ACTOR of this game. Choose the Light, choose to Love THIS. On the moment, you might not remember, but you can repeat this during the breakthrough, and it will echo during the trip

So for me it's always this tricky (nearly impossible, paradoxal) combination of surrendering and Standing Up (metaphore of course... i m not able to stand up haha ! but btw, i'm able to move, sometimes i just start moving my arms, and they do all this ""sacred"" position, prayers, finger position - and this shape the trip. In the same way, i start Omhing, making sound, and this also is like activating the beauty, the playfulness, the magic extasy of the experience.

Maybe this could help you...

In other hand, when i organize small group session, i let always the most entousiastic and "positive" tripper go first. When he come back with his big smile of amazment, it creates generally a trustfull good energy in the group.

I also like to remember than even if the trip is tough, i always come back happy of it !

Live, go out, enjoy your life. Healthy activities.

The day you decide to smoke - just have a relaxed atmosphere; relaxed setting. Blankets, pillows, nice smells, maybe some light music (if that's your thing), some water for before and after.

Biggest thing going into it though is comfortability - your immediate environment, which in turn affects your frame of mind going in. Best to have that all squared away and cozy.
