Hello.

I was wondering lately... since there is not such thing in my country and i did some research on the net and was not able to find some licenced university that provides a course for entheogen psychology. Don't get me wrong with the topic stating alchemist. By far i think i have found ( finally ) what i want to do with my life and that is somewhat described as an alchemist or psychedelic explorer.... you can call it however. I do not like to classify things. I like the mixture of alchemy, physics and am more competent in a way in psychology.

I know there is no straight line up for this path and an university might sound absurd, besides the one we have here Smile. Also i know some of you will state that it is more of a self-learning thing. I try my best at that it is just i want to take things to the next level, if it can be put like that Smile.

My bowl is empty and waiting for your thoughts on this. I am not asking ' Oh, please tell me what to do in my life because i am so confuuuused '. It is more of asking for different opinions from more expirienced people.

cheers,
Stitch

Well, if you want to work with psychedelics give a read to these MAPS's articles

Maybe they want completely fit your ideas and tastes. but I believe they're worth reading.

You might want to consider looking into ethnopharmacology. It studies the cultural use of medicines including ayahuasca.

You could also just study organic chemistry.

I`d suggest maybe using organic chem & psychology as a career path. Major in one, minor in the other.
Once you have degrees under your belt in those, you have a career to provide with decent money & support further schooling to expand in whatever direction you see fit.

Keep in mind, with sanctioned research on psychedellics, you are going to need to be a well rounded individual, along with those you are already interested in it may prove very helpful to obtain degrees in the medical feild, pharmacology & probably several other types of science such as biochemistry, plant biochemistry, etc.

I`m actually planning on starting School for organic chemistry within the next year or so for the very same reason.

^exactly.

There are no courses specifically studying psychedelics. I know massachusets has a good program that includes amazonian medicine but that is the closest I have found. Your best bet would be to get the base knowledge first though. Do you want to make and study synthesis of the drugs or theyre effect on the mind and body?

For me I plan on studying ethnobotany, botany and hopefully some chemistry to understand the makeup of these plants and how they can be used.

Above all else, I have found the best way is to simply educate yourself (as it seems your doing) and research what you can independently. Thats why the nexus is so great!

Thank you for the opinions guys. Now that few more days have passed and i have read a lot for the past days. I came to a conclusion that most probably i will major psychology and minor biochemistry or something like that. Only time will tell ,after all that is what i want ,but maybe call it destiny or God has something else in mind. I will try to follow my heart and intuition.

I will keep track of this topic since i believe it is an endless theme which has different perspectives. ( not the part where i don't know what to specialize , but the alchemist path).
I watched a few videos on youtube from the gnostic students channel: Alchemy 01, 02 and so on. They helped me a lot, so i advise those who are interested to take some time into the lectures.

Thank you again for your advices. The umass site seems interesting and if i have the opportunity one day i will travel and see into it more closely Smile. The maps ogranization is quite amazing and i have learned a lot from their online lectures and researches.

Peace out and off to chase that darn philo stone....
