I recently had a conversation with a friend who has been doing extractions for a while now and we got on the topic of setting an intention and meditating on it during the extraction process. My friends experiments went as such, during the extraction process, he would meditate during the periods of time you have to wait like when acidifying, basifying, or letting the naptha extract the DMT from your mixture.

The first time he did this he meditated on the idea of learning how to truly love, whether it be yourself or others, and other concepts based around love. After the extraction multiple people tried the batch and almost all of them came back with results of unconditional love from the experience.

When the next batch that was extracted, the process was repeated but this time the focus of the meditation was expanding your awareness and breaking boundaries that had previously held you back. Upon having people try this batch the results that people described from there experience where that it was extremely intense and overbearing and some even described it as breaking there concept of reality to reveal new boundaries beyond what they thought were possible.

I feel I should note that most if not all people that tried these batches are experienced users and know what the experience can hold in store for you.

I always try to set some intention into psychedelic experiences. I am wondering if any of you have ever conducted any experiments like this or you practice meditation and setting intention into your experiences with supportive results??

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

I don't have any particular meditative methods while extracting but I do find the whole process itself to be like a right of passage. Extractions can be tedious and time consuming but the end results are well worth the effort. Intentions are inexplicably intertwined with the innermost/profound experiences. What I find interesting is that sometimes you can unknowingly hide intentions from yourself only to have them brought out and waved in front of your face via an entity or through self realization.

I think this is a wonderful idea though. Stating and being pure with your intentions is most likely paramount to not only a successful extraction, but to a positive and meaningful learning experience once one partakes in the aforementioned extracted spice.

Thank you for sharing!

My rational mind rages at such concepts, but I'd like to say that such things as intent do come through in the extract. I've worked with planetary energies with extractions and such, doing an election during the process and then meditating on the planets that are there. And it's strange, I've had similar results as you, with unaware participants reacting to a dose with exclamations reflecting the intent placed in the brew.

When doing ceremonies in Peru I like to have people cook with me when able (San Pedro usually). During the cooking and handling time whatever issue they want to work on usually comes up in conversation, and they start to get some insights just connecting with the plant through cooking. It's like preparation for the next day when we drink. I think too that some of there energy gets put into the San Pedro and it's like creating energetic antibodies or something - the medicine knows just what they need and already has it waiting for them!

I cook a lot of San Pedro.... Every single batch I make the exact same way, but they each have a completely different personality. Each time I will say different prayers and sing different songs, which is how I set intention (the only part of the brew process that changes is which songs/prayers are put in). And I often drink with others, and there is always something in common about our experiences that day.... One brew will teach everyone about family, another brew will be super visual or strong, or another one will be all about your childhood.... I love how each batch has its own distinct character.
