Hello,

This post is as much a post as it is a question. I have tried both DMT and 5 Meo DMT. I am not going to say that 5 Meo DMT is "worse" than normal N,N DMT, because that is not how it should be seen, but it is to me unpleasantly different. I do not mind the intensity difference psychologically as a strong dose on both is not communicable and therefore hard for me to differentiate between. However, the 5methoxy version is much rougher for me. My friend says he hates it and that having smoked hundreds of grams of N,N DMT that 5 Meo is inferior and dare I say "Shit". I told him that they are different experiences and that he cannot do the comparison thing because even if the change is a simple Methoxy group, the new product is a different molecule no matter its structrual similarity. I can see why this reasoning does not apply elsewhere such as with the Tryptamine HO/Aco's as well but this is DMT we are talking about. On paper one does not see who/what DMT is. This methoxy on DMT makes a compound Chemically similar but psychopharmacologically different and therefore 5meo cannot be compared to DMT because they are not the same even if similar. Sorry about the rant, I rarely get to speak openly upon such matters without being scrutinized either for the general discussion of drugs or slightly unprecise scientific methods of thought.

Almost all reports and my personal experiences confirm that 5 Meo DMT produces a panic/norepinephrine response in users. DPT is similar in this regard and should be looked at but at a further date. Anyway, this fear response manifests itself psychologically as some kind of fear (hard to tell through the psychedelia) and physically an uncomfortable stimulant like sensation. I notice an incredibly rapid heart rate and some tremor. Others have reported other things which Erowid summarizes on one of its pages. Note, this is when 5MeoDMT is vaporized on its own.

In combinations however I have a completely different effect. I have combined 5 Meo DMT with small dosages of MDMA and found this to drastically change the nature of the experience. It is less edgy and feels much closer to N,N then % Meo itself. I have only combined 5 Meo DMT with MDMA making be biased with my view. I realize that MDMa may not have been the best base of which to base the subjective chnages I felt from the % Meo DMT, especially the hapinesss as MDMA is a powerful euphoriant on its own. That said, I decided to research this and found many reports of very successful combinations of 5 Meo with other psychedelics (and even High dose Alcohol!) in varying doses. The 5 Meo became enjoyable, less "angry" and the heavy negative physical effects disappeared.

My shaky inference is that for 5 Meo DMT to be easier/more "enjoyable"/more N.N like one needs to take something psychedelic. although apparently alcohol also works, on top. It appears to me that 5 Meo DMT is best used as a combination drug with a small dose of some light psychedelic (E.g. 1.5-2g Mushrooms, 100ug LSD).

Has anyone here observed this? What do you guys think about this? Can you relate to anything ive said? Can you refute anything I said?

5-MeO-DMT, DMT and psilocybin are all very very similar for me. They are also different but generally they all share common traits.

I think I actually prefer 5-MeO-DMT to DMT. I have far more experience with DMT, but 5-MeO-DMT has never been unpleasant for me, except for the sheer terror I felt while trying to grasp some sense of self while coming back from the full dose..but even then that part was followed by the most ecstatic cosmic bliss and union with the light of what I feel okay calling god.

I don't know why some people do not like it. 5-MeO-DMT is more tactile and euphoric than DMT IME. It is an extremely pleasant psychedelic. It should def be respected and used with caution as the stuff can easily dwarf most DMT experiences people are having at common doses of DMT.

I don't know what to say about 5-MeO-DMT tbh. I have a lot of trouble describing my experience with it. This stuff is very special IMO and yes the experience shatters every idea you have about who you are or what this life is. If you have never had this experience and are into DMT or other psychedelics, I would suggest this experience to you. If not, I dunno...I don't want to be that guy turning people new to psychs on to this stuff.

Maybe people are not ready for it, maybe the idea of being ready or not is just silly and the thing itself is just what it is and the truth is found in our ownm willingness to face it. I don't have answers...but I can say this, and it's about all I can say with any definitive clarity...5-MeO-DMT brought me to my knees, and then laid my ass out on the ground, and took me into the white light of god..or w/e that thing is. However short an experience in real time, it is, and always was, on some level, now and forever.

..and I cant wait to go back there...yet somehow I seem to be waiting and waiting and waiting hehehe.

I might write more on this later.
Long live the unwoke.

There is a beauty to it, but I would say that the beauty is far from being the main attraction. Whatever beauty there is doesn't seem to be captivating in the same way that it is on DMT. I find the visuals to be more uniform across the visual field. They don't seem very representational of much to me, but maintain some of the DMT aesthetic without the objects, rooms and entities.

The whole experience was extremely beautiful for me. Visually..well the thing replaced reality..and it was not a complete void...it was like becoming an infinitely faceted diamond, with white numinous light pouring into and out of the thing, in such as way that the facets of this eternal jewel would refract the light into rainbow prisms of indescribable complexity...and I was all of it.

Coming down..well it was extremely visual. People say it's not very visual..I don't understand that one bit. I could not see my surroundings..all I could see(and I was walking around) was blinding white light with gasoline like rainbow stuff here and there inside of the light. This lasted a solid minute or two before I really came down more and the feeling of god light running through me or w/e left and I could see the world around me again..still totally tryptamine vision, but hey I could see my hands and feet again.

sounds real good , so there are visions and other alien phenomenon , even if different from DMT

sounds like a worthy tryptamine to be explored
