Hello
SWIM followed the tek in the DMT Handbook pretty much to the letter. The only difference being he used Citric rather than Phosporic acid and only simmered the rootbark (100 grams) for 30 minutes rather than 1.5 hours as it said in Vovin's tek that you shouldn't overheat the bark material as it will break down the DMT and cause a loss of yield.
He then added lots of Caustic Soda (he estimates about 150g). This took the ph up to about 11.8. He would have added more to get it above 12 but didn't have any.
3 pulls were then done each with 100ml of Naptha (Ronsonal lighter fluid) and these saved in a glass bowl.
The bowl was then placed in the freezer for 3 days.
The results are shown below including the Naptha. Note the Naptha is quite green and the crysals are by no means white. Is this OK? SWIM's sure it said somewhere on this forum that the colouration of the Naptha/DMT is from tannins in the rootbark.
Could someone please confirm that the crystals are indeed DMT. They look suspiciously like Caustic Soda, but SWIM doesn't have any the moment to compare them to. Does some of the Caustic Soda end up in the Naptha and then fall out during freezing with the DMT?
Do the crystals need to be washed or recrystallised, or are they OK as is? SWIM was intending to make some enhanced leaf. He's ordered some Chacurna leaf and PassionFlower and has some Caapi vine that has been ground up and should be OK to use.
Sorry for all the questions, but he doesn't want to smoke something that is full of contaminants.
Thanks
