I am a new member in this forum and I feel happy that I have the chance to "connect" with so many inspiring minds!

However, when it comes to the application and I see the promotion function, I have a odd feeling about this filter. As I read, the idea behind this function is to slowly integrate new members and keep the forum clean and prevent threads from any kind of contamination.

Coincedently we limit this colourful alive place, in which we share our experiences, to many great minds and support the idea of a reality that everything has to be regulated and controlled, follow certain ways of correctness/rightness (which are concepts of ourselves). My impression is, that this way is expressing fear and not trust. This is only a glimpse.

Fear that when there is something "chaotic" going on, the diamonds are maybe buried and things get messy, or something else. But this relfects life to me, it includes everything, I include everything. Beside of that, truth is unquestionable and infite, there is nothing to worry about, I am.

What I do and how I live is just a mirror of my own state of evolution (internal = external = I am = one). In the nexus we talk about integration of the devine "blaablup" but seperate ourselves from others. We want to experience differnt realms of reality and seek for higher understanding but maybe miss the point in our own humanity. Now I experience myself as human, this is my reality, which I form and create and I make all the best out of it, I make the dream come true.

My dream is about love, happiness and unity, omniversal, as humans, as lifeforms as creations of the essence of life, I am.

To exclude something appears to me as a result of the leak of a proper way of integration. Everything I dispel, neglect and exclude is reflecting my own level of integration. More, all I do not integrate now, is coming back and back and back again, till I integrate the experience and develop. Otherwise I am stuck in the same topics my whole life, repeating the same questions and doing the same stuff again and again.

My approach is that life regulates it self, I regulate myself, this means the community regulates it self, we expand to unknown dimensions.

Therefore, instead of closing most of the forum to new nexians, we can open most of the sub forums to public and create a "inner circle", like a place in the nexus which is only accessable to specific users who need to work in this place, like the "Integration guide for Entheogenic work (No Access)" area. Maybe there is already a secret inner circle for special members, yeah why not, everyone can have their place, coexistening.

We are the future, now! At least I am.

I am openness, I set free and evolve.

I am providing information which results of my sensitivity and reflection.

With all respect and love, tseuq

[Edit] Some more thoughts about on topic:
I can only develop as fast as I integrate my whole experience. Society as a macroscopic transition of myself can only develop as fast as every single human gets the point, that means to me: F.e. as long as one human creates the idea of rasism, we collectivly have to deal with it.

Thank you for your thoughts..

But regarding the membership, if you are not happy with the way it is, what is your practical constructive suggestion then?

We can start step by step, opening the gates of nexus to everybody.

Let's begin with the registration, where new members can register 7 days a week. After registration they are signed as new members with the same rights they have now, except that all sub forums are open to all members partially. That means every new member can post in an already existing thread in any subforum but is not allowed to open new threads, except in the 2 already existing new member areas, until they get promoted.

If required we open a inner circle, like a place in the nexus which only specific user, who needs to work in this place, like the "Integration guide for Entheogenic work (No Access)" area, can edit the content. It can be a place for different workgroups and people can asign to those groups.

I don't care too much about the "loss" of some of the content, because important information on different teks and things like that are already sticked in the forum itself and furthermore eternalized in the wiki of the nexus. The wiki content itself also increses and may keep different information, like detailed guidelines for the experience, integration, what ever, as well. Other topics, like awakening itself, which matter to me, seem to be repeated and repeated anyways all over the period of humanity. Rolling eyes The last step of being selfdeterminated is everybodies own decision, I respect.

Much love, tseuq

We used to have the gates open all the time, but it was difficult for the mod team to keep up with the influx of new members. By pulsing the gates we are able to help orient one set of new members before the next set comes in, and so far it's been a pretty successful system. Besides, having to wait a bit to sign up and join the discussion allows some time to read the FAQ, attitude, and wiki to get a feel for the culture and expectations of the community.

I don't really agree with opening up all threads to new members off the bat as you suggest because that can create problems in forum upkeep. Let's say a spambot gets through the registration and then proceeds to spam 1000 different threads all over the forum with viagra ads or some such. It's a lot of work for the mods to track down and remove the spam from all over the forum, whereas it's much less difficult to upkeep the couple of new member subforums. This is basically the reason the welcome area was created in the first place, and as you can see, it's worked quite well overall. Take a look at places like shroomery or drugs-forum to get an idea of what this place would look like without the welcome area.

That integration guide subforum just got pulled for mod discussion, it's not some kind of sekret inner circle thing, there was just some questions that needed clarification that were best hashed out in private. I don't think it's really in our best interest to have sekret exclusive L33T subforums with assigned members. Granted some behind the scenes discussion is necessary (for example there are hidden sections for mod discussion) but isn't the overall goal to work openly and collaboratively to further our collective knowledge?

I suppose it's an apt analogy as everyone goes to kindergarden but it takes a little more effort to get into university Smile

Thank you for outlining this thought. I got it yesterday night, while I was pressing the post-button to send my previous answer to this thread. Smile I am non-stop learning, integrating and expanding, while my creations/expressions in material world are always one step behind. Very happy

Hello everybody I would like to throw out an idea

If a new member completes the survey I believe they should be able to post freely, however their posts will only be viewable to senior members who may allow the post to be shown perhaps with some symbol denoting the circumstances under which it was allowed

Like a young plant beginning to grow leaf after leaf until..

If enough posts (idk how many) are "certified constructive" by senior members who happen to be reading then that person could become a member that way in addition to the voting

Just a suggestion coming from my perspective: while being a new member I did see several threads I said oh I've had experiance with that or I'd like to ask a question about this But I was unable to give any input (I may very well dig up some of those threads haha)

anyway I appreciate you people greatly a really nice e community is active on this site I am grateful to be allowed full membership

The only problem that may arise with this is that anyone can answer the questionnaire with "IDK" or "I'm not here for that" or other random answers I've seen posted. The people who answer like that don't realize (or don't care) that their answers are immediately available for peer review. The questionnaire is here to determine who is willing to do their own research and who is willing to contribute something of value to the Nexus. It shows who really wants to be here.

This would flood the admin, senior members, and moderators with more posts to screen than necessary and could possibly defeat the whole purpose of the questionnaire. Once word got out that you could wing the questionnaire, it could open up a window for trolls, spammers, and nonsense.

If a new member truly wants to post in a subforum that they don't have access to yet, all they have to do is be genuine in their posts (including an intro thread) and fill out the questionnaire and/or share trip reports or new scientific articles/studies/teks/etc etc etc. That is just a few ways, basically make an authentic contribution. I've seen people get promoted on their first post for the record.

All new members are welcome to post in the welcome area and if it is deemed necessary, it can later be moved to the appropriate subforum by the MOD team. I see where you are coming from and it isn't a bad idea, I'm just not sure it would fit into the way things work. I'm not a part of the MOD team or anything like that so this is just my pure speculation. In other words, don't take me too seriously, hehe!

Other than that, congrats on your full membership and enjoy your time at the Nexus!

Good points Greatful ,maybe someone could sign off on the questionnair, however let's say I wrote answers like that on the questionnair then attempted to post nonsense this would never be seen and would bode negatively for my likelihood of ever reaching any type of audience

Which I believe would be the goal of a spammer; however your point about undue workload for more and such stands firm indeed

In my new member status I wished to respond to existing threads, most if not all I have had difficulty finding now. However any contributions I could have made would not in all likelihood have been earth shattering revelations anyway Cool

I really am thrilled to be here and feel you got a very good way to screen new members.

I have had questions but found the answers through research and thinking about all I have learned here.

Thanks for taking the time to screen/test me and for all the work members have done to advance our collective knowledge across the board... from sustainable growth to extraction.

I love to learn and often thought a test would be helpful for certain forums. People want to talk /work/research with peers not teach kindergarten.

Becoming a member of the Nexus, is like getting into Harvard or another bragged on University. Honestly a degree from Harvard wouldn't do as much for me as being a member of the DMT-Nexus. I'm here for "life" and the living not to make money.

I hope to become a valuable member of research projects using TLC screening for Cactus, Desmanthus Illinoensis and Acacia's and growing some Mimosa Tenuiflora for research and sharing.

peace

^This. I by and large agree with Trav's decisions, including the new promotion button...good call.

I don't really get most of the anti arguments. The nexus has an open forum area and everyone has access to all the teks, wiki, and science discussions. There isn't anything wrong with demonstrating a bit of worth, or depth before being allowed to enter other areas. IMHO.

Peace
