My personal opinion on this substance is that it is the most RELIABLE and easily accessed method of reaching a ++++ state. Now, my experience is not the definition of the experience, but since it is the only thing I've been able to encounter that samashi consciousness ( or lack of) with is 5meo, which leads me to think that it's inherent within the substance.

Thanks for the Grof quotes, synchro, I'll have to get that book, I'm currently researching this molecule for an article and that looks like a good resource.

Has anyone ever rea Darkness Shining Wild ? Forget the author's name atm, but apparently his experience with the void was a bad one. I do tire of people calling it the 'dark side of DMT', whatever that means..

Robert Augustus Masters, PhD is the guy that wrote it, null24.
James Oroc talks about him in his book Tryptamine Palace and that is how i got to know about him and his book. James says that in his mind they are both describing same/similar experience but he labels it positive and Robert negative.

Something funny, i just found ó that the 5meo that started this whole thing with me in a round a bout way, was facilitated through J.O. Apparently, the guy who gave it to me was gifted it by one of Oroc's close friends, who has unfortunately left this realm. It's a small strange world, after all...

Thanks for the name, HB

Roberts book Darkness Shining Wild is one of my all time favorite books; covers a wide range of existential topics, including his months of terror/integration of his high dose 5-MeO experience. It's beautifully written; id say close to a masterpiece.

I remember Oroc saying it was negative, but I don't think that was the case from reading it imo; guess it would depend on who reads DSW and interprets it as such. I saw Roberts book as brutally honest and visceral, a really great, thick read.

Although after his 5-MeO experience he had several months after where every night he would enter extremely profound transcendental states, and his reaction was terror more or less, and this led him to a major difficulty in coping. I wont give away the ending, but lets just say there was certainly a silver lining in his profound journey and it's honestly one of the most well written books that i've read in a long time. Mirrors many of my feelings on the DMT experience in general.

Highly recommended.

Yeah, the book is pretty steep, but the pdf is widely available. Cool

Thanks for bringing my attention to this book Tatt, i've thoroughly enjoyed what i've read so far, i like the way his poetry is scattered throughout, this gave me the shivers...

It only makes sense
When we stop trying to make it make sense
Rest in undressed Being
Remembering to remember that
It and you have never been apart
Until only What-Really-Matters remains
Already perfectly dressed for the part
Too real to make the news
And the lovers die, die, die
Into a love beyond imagining
Crying out as one: Oh God God O God

I also love his focus on spiritual awakening & self-inquiry, great stuff Thumbs up
