I am wondering if there are any studies on brain waves while under the influence of psychedelics? I was watching 60 minutes or something like that the other night and there was a segment on how MRI/ SCANS were used in experiments to see/ map how the brain reacted just on words and pictures. IE- a picture of and the word HOUSE.

Eventually the computer through the scan was able to "read the mind" of the person that held said picture because it knew that brain pattern/ reaction to the picture that the person was holding. This is a new science due to the fact that technology has allowed us to go through huge amounts of data in very little time.

In all, I think psychedelics open up or allow us to use different parts of or more of the brain. Does anyone know if this is true or has it been studied? That is why we get hints of answers to questions that no one really knows etc... etc... etc...
