Beautiful!!!!Thumbs up
Freedom's so hard
When we are all bound by laws
Etched in the scheme of nature's own hand
Unseen by all those who fail
In their pursuit of fate

Thank you very much When, it gives hope although I've never seen a SD blossoming in my zone, an actual photographic evidence of seed propagation is very good news.

Those are SD seedlings?
Uh-oh, I see those in my salvia pots all the time, and pull them out, thinking that they're some tag-along plant taking root. Mine have never flowered
Actually technically although you may see young leaves, you don't see seedlings because if you don't get flowers, you won't get seeds, if you get flowers you won't get polinization, hence you don't get seedlings. Cotyledons from different species look very much alike, so it's nearly impossible to tell visually which specy is growing until first leaves appear.

Thanks Corax, they're doing well Smile

Got them to third leaf stage now. Good progress, and it's good to see you got rid of all the other plants around them, as it's in the upcoming stage that their roots will really begin to spread. My one concern is that they're growing almost on top of each other and at this stage separating them would be very detrimental, and once the roots get intertwined you'd have to rip the plant in half to get them apart. I guess they'll have to be twins for life Big grin oh and that root above the soil isn't such a bad thing, they will run root just below/on the surface as breathers, you can a a little soil or mulch, but don't cover them to much, they'll just keep pumping them out further up the trunk.

Nice to see there's some green thumbs among the nexians Thumbs up

Thanks Wiz,
I had forgot to mention I transplanted them into a separate pot, theyre enjoying the extra legroom. I have no intention to separate them so they'll have to get along Smile
They had developed more roots than I thought they would. The root mass was close to the surface, maybe 2 inches deep and 3 inches wide, roots were visable poking out of the root "puck". Their roots are intertwined so your right, it would be quite risky to attempt a separation.

Yeah, there's no real need to separate them, they'll happily grow side by side, they'll just get a bit of sibling rivalry going on, fighting for your love lol

Weird that they're so slow in the beginning and so incredibly fast when they get established...

Yes I agree! I guess they were more focused on producing roots. It'll be fun to watch their progress Smile

Good job, man. It's so rare and beautiful to see Salvia seedlings. I'm kinda jealous.
No matter what you've done, you deserve respect. Even if you make mistakes, you're lovable.
And it doesn’t matter - your looks, skills, age, your size, or anything.

You’re worthwhile. No one can ever take that away from you.
