Hi all,

SWIM is considering a large extraction but is nervous about storing freebase DMT in the family home.

He's thinking storing in solution might be more stealthy (thinking saturated acetone in a nail varnish remover bottle), and would like to know the forum's opinion on if it's advisable and if so, the most viable liquid.

His considerations are solubility, shelf-life, ease of evaporation for use, ability to make changa directly from the chosen solution.

Would acetone be the way to go? Interested to hear some views.

HDPE container and safe ground recomended.
Hide it well and no one will see.
First of all safety and responsibility are the most important.
Of course you should not do it were it is illegal.
Respecting the Law brings the most safety.

Thanks for your reply Aeternus... hiding it well is a given but in a house with 4 others SWIM doesn't want to have to answer any awkward questions. Do you have anything specific to add regarding storage in solution?

I do not normally store my goodies in solution but it does work. However, drinkable grain ethanol (Everclear at least 95%) will work better than Iso or acetone for dissolving harmalas (acetone and iso work fine for DMT but if you want to make changa easily then Everclear is a better option).



Everclear hits all of the criteria and is much safer than Methanol or DCM (see below)

Also, keep in mind some members may give you flack for doing an extraction in the same place where others are unaware of what is going on. If you are doing a food safe tek with no nasty chemicals it will probably be okay but if you are doing one with harmful chems it is only fair that you get them out of the house...I am sure you have a plan though and I can't tell you what to do or what not to do. Welcome to the nexus the psychedelic University Enjoy your stay ATTITUDE! is every thing here i am speaking from experience as fair as doing a extraction we do not condone large extractions but for small scale is ok and the word SWIM wont help you with law enforcement.

Is your considering a smaller extraction its best to do it in well vented area vented are outside no open flames and since your in a in the family home i might want to go to a friends house that will let you do that there are many methods like Freeze precipitation to cut back on fumes always if that not an Option work in well vented areas.

And make sure there are no kids home for hrs til the fumes are gone if u can do it in garage and not in home for the kids safety and your own please do that.

As Fair as solubility, shelf-life keep and cool dark place it while last a long while.
