So I just got my GVG in the mail after saving up for a while, this thing is pretty amazing. I only have one complaint which would be that I wish it was just a little bit thicker. Everything else is literally perfect, but for a $100+ pipe it would have been nice to have it be a little thicker/more durable, but I digress.
Upon reading the little pamphlet it comes with I noticed that it mentioned that the top cap can possibly seize into the bottom, meaning it becomes very difficult to remove which could ruin the whole thing. Even fresh out of the box I noticed the cap did tend to get caught a tiny bit on the bowl. The tip from the pamphlet was to use a thin layer of beeswax or powdered plant debris on the ground glass. I was hesitant to use beeswax because the last thing I want is for the beeswax to melt into the bowl during vaping, even a minuscule amount. What I did was I took the cup the I grind my acrb/mhrb in (nutribullet) and took a small amount of the powder off of the sides and applied a thin layer to the ground glass. The results were great and the top slid right in and right off of the bottom piece. Don't overlook this, as insignificant as it may seem, because you really don't want it to get stuck. I've attached some pictures in case someone gets confused about exactly where to apply it or how much to apply. The first pic is how much powder I used to start, and the second is after I turned the top between my index and thumb to evenly distribute the powder. Like I said you just want a thin layer so nothing falls into the bowl. This may not be a very important tip in regards to vaping technique, but I thought I'd share anyway.
