Hello ladies and gentleman,

Has anyone hear tried Vipassana Meditation? It's a free 10-Day course with 100+ hours of meditation. No talking, booze, intoxicants of any type.

You speak on the last day as a shock absorber before returning to 'real' life.

I have to say this was the most profound and beneficial experience I've ever had.

After 20+ hours of meditation I had the biggest release of 'the best drug ever' endogenously.

It felt like the afterglow of a strong Aya session.

Day 6 and 7 I had similar experiences but didn't react in such a blessed out way - the key with Vipassana is to observe and not crave or chase feelings.

Has anyone here done the 10-day course? How did it effect your Aya / Changa usage?

Since the trip I've strangely been smoking a lot of pot - I couldn't previously but Vipassana melted away a lot of anxiety I didn't even know I had.

I tried some change this morning and all the colors were back - was very beautiful indeed Big grin

I'm going to be taking it easy on the psychedelics (not giving up) because the afterglow and the insight from Vipassana is much longer lasting than any LSD, DMT, Ayahuasca experience.

Would love to hear from fellow meditators : )

I have read about this and thought about trying it; it sounds very intriguing. I am not however in the right stage of my life to take a ten day vow of silence and abstinence from all substances. I have practiced vipasssana meditation techniques in the past (however I've never rightly got in the routine of meditating except maybe a bit when I was out living on an island, which I was forced to do, when I was 15 and we were taught meditation and yoga and alot of similar "alternative" education). When I practiced vipassana I sometimes would encounter an lsd like oceanic connecting and identification with the world; I essentially lost boundaries between me and the external world but in a coherent and clear headed manner.

This form of meditation is very appealing to me because it seems like it can be used in most any circumstances. I should try it more often.

Hey awooga,

I try to attend at least one 10-day sitting a year, while attending multiple short-duration sittings when I have a chance. One thing I would be cautious of when promoting the courses is the emphasis on "free". The courses, and organisation as a whole, rely substantially on donations (However much a participant is able to give), without which they would more than likely not exist in certain locations. I'm sure you know this, I thought I would just lift it out for others reading this post.

In my personal experience, I try to prolong the practice after the course, slowly integrating substance use over a period of time. This time period varies for me, adjusting as I feel appropriate.

Glad to hear you have benefited from the course! Stay well

Bro, i loved the vipassana experience. To those whom i met there, i described my experience at the vipassana centre like being on acid for 10 days straight. With the challenges evoked in trips and being so deep inside the mind, simply observing, reacting and then realising what was done to remove yourself from that present observer and entering unconsciousness. Love it, i noticed i went straight back into a gaming addiction from the vipassana which really effected my technique. Now i've stopped playing computer (1month or so prior to the experience), and have found I'm loving smoking the ganja at the moment. I found it helped me dearly, am yet to try a psychedelic but would love to bend the rules and take mushrooms whilst sitting in the meditation hall Razz
