After noticing the huge similarity between Tepezcohuite (Mimosa Hostilis) and Mezquite (Prosopis Juliflora), i got my hands on some PJRB.
About 300 grams of fresh root bark was extracted from some nearby park and put (unpulverized) into a mason jar with a drop of muriatic acid. Let it sit for a day, strained, basified, extracted with naphtha and is currently evap'ing.
When i basified, the deep-bright transparent red tone of the brew immediately turned into a light brown and got cloudy, and a lot of precipitate formed. I added more lye and water (further basifying) and the red tone came back, only darker and a bit more on the yellow side. I think the precipitate that first formed were alkaloids turning into their freebase form, precipitating in the not-basic-enough water solution.
Will post back as soon as i run the first bio-assay.
