This is just as much to keep track of things on my front as to let you all follow my grow. My last Bridgesii seeds germed well but tragically were euthanized. I am germing seeds from a different vendor; this time they look bigger and seemingly healthier though they haven't germed yet.

It has been about a week and half, so lets say we are on day 12. I believe my last seeds germed by now but I didn't keep a record and have an awful memory. I am using the same method as before; small dish filled with sterilized sand (sterilized in oven) and misting about 2 or 3 times a day, essentially when they dry out.

I have been misting less the last few days as the sand has started to develop an orangish color which could be mold starting; I believe I was misting to often the first few days. Anyways I don't remember this orange color appearing last time I germ bridgesii.

They are inside in open air near a window, which stays closed.

Any comments or advice very welcome. Cross your fingers for me. Thumbs up

Why not mist one time and then wrap in transparent foil ? After that just leave it.
works very well IME.

cant research or type very much since i dont have a computer but my reasoning is they would be more prone to mold if there was to much moisture and they would get less air. Trying to replicate nature. What have u grown and how have u done it?
Thanks for ideas

I didn't invent this method, i just copy very experimented growers. It's very efficient and time saving as you prepare it and you can forget about it (though difficult to not check it severals time a day when you are a noob like me^^).
Most of germination happen from 2 to 15 days, depends of quality (freshness) of seeds.

You can also use a transparent container like in this method.

A dash of copper would help keep the mould away; looking forward to seeing the babies!

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Is the water you are spraying filtered/distilled/etc.? I wonder if the orange coloring is just from the extra stuff in the tap water. That's the color of the minerals/other crud that get left behind when the shower water dries around here.

So these ones were destroyed while cleaning too... Ya ya ya, don't bring your cacti around sprac's place. managed to salvage someof the seeds and they are in with this new batch. Since then I have acquired much more room to grow in and have started more seeds... Got abouta 70ish bridgesii seedlings and 4 lopoh seedling.. Wondering what kind of light to get (working on a low budget, around a 100 for a light right now) and then start grafting to peresiopsis...
